Xite owners next challenge

Post by siriusbliss »

After all the drooling is completed after seeing how many ridiculous amounts of mixers, or reverbs, or whatever can be run in Xite, we should consider trying to do some more real-world applications (besides playing 10 synths at once Jimmy) that could really show off what Xite can do.

One thought I had was to try to emulate an Omnisphere with 8 STS samplers with some really good samples, some arpeggiators, modulars, filters, step sequencers, etc. and see what's really possible without having to buy an i7 quad with 16G RAM just to play one stupid VST Rompler. :P

Any other ideas?

Greg

p.s. posting this to kill some MORE time waiting for Xite to arrive :) ...

You are right with your question regarding the real world. All I can say: I'm very very happy with my XITE (SN 0002)!!! My main project is based on the big STS 4896 mixer with tons of FX, 64x ASIO In/Out (that means a LOT of connections), several synthies like a Minimax (6 or more voices > no prob), and so on...
I just couldn't do that with my Scope cards! And there is a lot of DSP power left for more, what should I tell you more from the real world...
And it runs rock stable with Cubase 5, never had such a good system ever before. BTW, XITE is connected to a A16 XLR, so I have a lot of analog and digital In/Outs. Switching between analog and ADAT is very easy, just push the samplerate button on the A16 and there you are. I have a lot of old stuff running via the A16, like an Emu EIII, a GEM S3 or even a Kurzweil K250 and a K250 RMX. Really good sound! :)

I knew someone who could knock on their door would be serviced...........
If I lived there they would have a coffee mug with name on it, or either a restraining order.
