Karaoke Software

Post by dawman »

I was hoping I could get some suggestions on which Karaoke software is the best to use w/ a DAW.
I have to get a big 52" screen and a video card w/ TV out.
I must keep my X employed or I will suffer.
One good thing is I will sell a couple of cards out of the old DAWg as it will only need 1 to playback Karaoke crap.

This is most embarrassing but necessary.
Years ago I saw guys doing this w/ little miniature stages and PA/lights/fog, etc. and they used Steinberg's Wavelab? I willuse Scope's 24bit Wave Source modules, bur would really like to use Multitrack Karaoke if there is such a thing.

Any help with this ridiculous endeavor would be appreciated...

Depends if you're going to use CD+G or .kar (shitty sounding GM tracks mostly made by amateurs...)

Thanks Paul,
Naturally I wan tot get the best software and I am researching it, but I trust members here much more than a software marketing approach.
I would like some kind of multitrack software where I could do some editing, or just re mastering in Scope somehow.
Eventually it could turn into a live Karaoke band where tracks could be muted for certain players or singers that arrive.
I WILL NOT..be playing in this group, but have a fairly good sized investment in the DAW and racks and need to keep my X working while she is still a recent commodity.
If I don't help her out she'll just end up getting comfortable in some crappy duo or trio and I'll still be forced to listen to the endless cackling.
Which software do you have experience with?
I have about 6 weeks before it needs to be operating.

My eyes are already hurting from reading pages of options and free software.
Even keyword searches for multitrack, etc. brings hundreds of opinions and software....

Thanks For Your Help..

Thnaks Brotha' Man LHong,

I have been going in circles from the vast amount of options and articles.
Your link took me right where I wanted to go..... The Unify Karaoke System Standard Edition DIY Kit looks exactly perfect. The remote that allows you work away from the computer and is made low level lighting. This could be trick possibly.

Thanks a bunch.
