Creamware User Setups
This thread is where you list the full specs of your machine that successfully runs your Creamware hardware. Please, no questions here (start a new thread), just setups that follow a similiar format as below.
Here's my current one which I got in October01. I'll update this when I get around to upgrading, but it's doing great for me right now.
4U Black 19" Rackmount Case
ASUS P4TE i850 Motherboard (ICS version)
1.8Ghz Pentium 4
512meg (2x256) Samsung PC800 RDRAM
80gig 7200RPM Seagate Barracuda IV
32meg Matrox G450 Dual Head
22" Black Trinitron Monitor @ 1600x1200x32
24X Teac CDRW (Black)
16X Pioneer DVD-ROM Slot Load (Black)
350 watt Enermax Whisper (Fan Control) Power Supply
WinME/WinXP Dual Boot (tweaked)
SCOPE/SP+PowerPulsar (30DSP - SCOPE Fusion Platform V3.1a)
Logic 5.13 SOON
SubMasterVerbTest - 10 masterVerbs (at
default BIOS settings)
I'll upgrade to Logic 5, and put in a Northwood 533mhz FSB chip in the next few months... but rock solid and fast system, it's been good to me.

Computer Hardware
Asus P4B533, 2533 MHz P4, 512MB DDR 266MHz,
Enermax 450W PSU dual fan,
Matrox G450 32MB dualhead (busmaster disabled) driving two 1024*768 screens,
Seagate Barracuda IV 80GB and 120 GB, Samsung 160GB, all 7200rpm & 8MB cache,

Scope w Z-Link daughterboard,
Firewire pci card,
LAN pci card.
IRQ settings: CW cards on 9, Matrox on 11, onboard audio on 7, LAN on 5. Onboard audio & COM's disabled. I've put the CW boards in slots 2,4 since the onboard audio shares with slots 1,5.
Software
Windows XP Pro, SFP 4
I gave up testing on 16 Masterverbs, apparently on the edge of dsp memory...
System limitation: 90% chance of BSOD upon loading of STS or sample osc, any hints are welcome on that
Other gear
Peavey Pc1600x for Scope and
Behringer BCF2000 for Cubase remote,
RolandJX-1 keyb (no AT):,
Philicorda organ (cheesy as fnck),
CW Luna2496 break-out box,
TEAC 80-8 1/2" 8 track with dbx module,
StudioMaster 16-2 analog mixer,
Focusrite Trak Master pre-amp,
Lab Series L9 guitar amp,
Toshiba Sattelite S2450 running Demudi, with Edirol UA-25 slaved to SFP providing 2 extra pre's,
...
More or less the same can be found on my homepage.

I have my Luna II (IRQ 5) and Pulsar II SRB (IRQ 9) running under Windows 98 SE (with Win2k dual-booted for other stuff) with the following hardware:
Abit BE6r2 BX Motherboard (with Highpoint HPT366 IDE controller)
PIII 500 Slot 1 Processor
256MB PC100 RAM
Diamond Viper V330 (Nvidia Riva 128) 4MB graphics adapter (I think)
6.4GB Generic IDE Hard Drive (System disk)
12.5GB IBM Deskstar Hard Drive (Audio disk)
17" Belinea Monitor
3Com Fast EtherLink XL 10/100Mb TX Ethernet NIC (3C905-TX)
USB Disabled
Samsung 32x CDROM
I used to have Yamaha DS2416 and AWE64 Gold cards in there as well, but eventually gave up on trying to integrate them all together. Shame really, as I liked my Yamaha card.
Everything works pretty well now. No problems with performance really. Even the display performance has been good since Luna v2.5 (which I'm still running). Run at 13ms which does fine for me. Can run at 7ms, but seriously reduces the amount of VST stuff I can use.
Currently enjoying Cubase VST32 5.1 which is significantly better in nearly every respect than 3.7. Big fan of Wavelength devices (I've got Transfusion, DubSubII and Plasma).
External Kit: Roland JV2080, KRK K-ROK speakers, Samson Servo-170, Mackie 1202VLZ.

wow! super duper cool factor defex. those cases and sliding rack setup musta cost a bundle! that green light emanating from inside makes that hefty case look like something you'd find on a borg cube
heres my meager mac setup which works well for myself. i am running os 8.6 and luna 2.52 on an elektra card, mainly using the modular.
Apple Power Mac 7500/100 running on a wholloping 43mhz system bus!
built-in: networking, narrow scsi2 , serial and adb
G3 300 Sonnet Crescendo (pds) w/ 1meg level 2 cache onboard
192 mb of mixed size interleaved (two identical modules placed in opposing slots) 168pin 60ns 2 or 4k fpm dimm memory modules (generic)
Ixmicro Twin Turbo 128m2 pci video w/ 4mb of vram
4.1 gig Seagate Barracuda 7200rpm narrow scsi2 (main).
9.1 gig Ibm Deskstar 7200rpm narrow scsi2 (audio)
17" Applevision a/v monitor
Yamaha CRW8824s int. scsi burner
Iomega Zip 100 ext. scsi
can't do a masterverb test yet, but if my experience with some of the freeware verbs are any indication, i won't be able to run a single one. i get the pci bus overflow message on ONE instance of these devices. i can't recall the names of them off hand.
aside from this i have had no problems directly related to hardware.
i am cpu strapped for the most part so i run at the highest ulli setting (34ms) at 44/16, it gives me no problems.
externally: motu micro express, sennheiser hd540 phones (no monitors yet, have a nice nad component stereo and some 1970's sansui beaters, with a blown right tweeter), broken esq1 (still plays on occasion some nice presets on a cart i have. plan to get fixed and also can get used for its controllers. serves as a large dust collector mostly
), peavey sp, zoom 1201, lexicon vortex, mackie 1202, 48 point patchbay, minidisc recorder, few mic's, some ethnic percusive instruments, a didj, bontempi organ (want to upgrade to a nicer one, hah!).
most of my stuff is perched on a 72" 3 tier Ultimate A-Frame with 8 arms. i don't reccomend putting a 60 pound monitor on the 3rd tier of anyones keyboard stand if they have any sort of earthquake activity in the area or live in a heavy, industrial part of the city. i just happen to not be, so its not a big concern and it works out really well, just gotta watch it when i'm banging on me keyboard, (when it was functional) as it is a little wobbly.
software wise: digital perfomer 2.72, pluggo 2.1, bias peak 2.58vst, d-sound pro, soundapp, soundhack, thonk, agreiphontes lyre, soundeffects, amadeus II, sp remote, qwerty midi keyboard, instant player, lots of other freeware plugs and softs in rotation.
using oms 2.38 , freemidi 1.44, & motu audio system 2.33.
i am unable to record with the creamware audio driver using any of that software which can be used in a recording manner. it conks out and causes crashing when used as playback only. so i just don't use it, but instead use the built-in a/v features on my mac and soundmanager for non asio apps or when i need to run two audio apps together (only record thru asio and the elektra though), with dp i can route soundmanager internal output into the program itself, for recording.
like spirit my machine is used for any amount of differing thing, gives me no conflicts.
my music is varied and largely unfinished. currently experimenting with found sounds and sparse electroacoustic atmospheres.

I have a PulsarII 3.01 running under Windows 98 SE with the following hardware:
BX Motherboard
PIII 550 Slot 1 Processor
384MB PC100 RAM
ATI graphics adapter
6.4GB Generic IDE Hard Drive (System disk)
20 GB Quantum Hard Drive (Programs disk)
40 GB Glyph X-project HardDrive (FireWire)
17" Monitor
No Network, No Internet.
Midiman USB 4x4
Creative 32x CDROM
M-Audio Delta TDIF with analog I/O and SP/DIF I/O
SoundBlaster Live with ASIO Drivers v 1.84
Tascam TM-D1000 Digital Mixer (All Cards I/O installed)
Mackie 1202 Analog Mixer
Yamaha NS-10's, Krk-KRock monitors
old Kawai K1
Yamaha DD50 trigger pads.
ART X-treme Pedal distortion plus effects
Digitech Vocalist EX.
Tascam MKIII cassete rec/player.
Good old electric and acoustic guitars.
Cubase 5.1
WaveLab 3.0
a bunch of Plugins
I use the Delta TDIF as the Recording card, the TM-D1000's effects are real good as well the dynamics, so I use both for my live recordings, the Pulsar is for all the extra processing and sound desing. It's important to say that the Delta TDIF is the master clock on my setup, thus the Pulsar II is the slave as well the TM-D1000, no problems so far.
I keep the Sblive in order to understand DSP, cause the new Drivers allow direct programming for the chip (emu10k1), I'm a software engineer so I want to lear that stuff, who knows,,may be some day I can program my own effects...
.

Wow, who would have thought DXL would be the first person to not follow the format of this thread. Anyway.
We also have another setup running here, this one is a little bit more exotic. Note that quite a few people have not had the success we had, so I'm not sure I would recommend such a setup (definitely not if noise or heat are issues in your studio - even with quiet fans, they all run at full speed and this thing is literally a space heater):
4U Black 19" Rackmount Case
Tyan Tiger MP Dual Athlon (rev 1.03), AMD760MP chipset
2 x 1800MP AMD Processors
80gig 7200RPM Seagate Barracuda IV
Enermax 430watt Whisper w/ Fan Control (always running full speed)
Creamware Elektra+Pulsar1 (running Luna V3.01)
Windows XP Pro Dual ACPI
Subtest: 8 MasterVerbs (DSP limit)
Occasionally we have seen the "CopyProtection" error since the machine is running in ACPI mode, but very, very rarely, also closing this window and relaunching the Luna software usually works.
I will probably through in the SCOPE here and try the SFP beta, but this machine has actually been running really well for us.
Again, due to slightly trickier setup, and the fact nobody else seems to have this working as smoothly (I will say again, it will NOT work on a Tiger Rev1, it must be a rev3 (1.03) version board or you will get PCI issues - the rev1 Tiger has hardware problems with its bus), I can't say I suggest this system. It definitely does work well for us here though!

Well... Right now I'm using... Stop that laugh now! Well, it is:
VB 610 V motherboard; soon heading for P4B266
Celeron 300 (clocked to 500); soon to be P4 2k
126 mb of nameless SDRAM; soon - 512 mb DDR
20.6 Gb IBM DTLA 5400 rpm hd; soon - Barracuda IV 80 Gb
Riva TNT 16 mb video; soon - GF4 64 MX-400(? - not defined yet)
15" Bridge monitor; soon - 19" LG Flatron.

This seems like a fun party going on. Here's my setup:
Asus P4TE with onboard audio
2Ghz P4
512(256X2) noname RAM
20Gb IBM IDE, they're all IDE
80Gb Maxtor
100Gb Wester Digital(for backups)
ELSA Gladiac GeForce2 GTS
19" EIZO 54Ts
TOSHIBA DVD+CDR
370watt powersuplly.. (if I remember)
WinXP
Pulsar II on OS 3.01
YAMAHA DSP Factory with c-console 1.4
SB Live for Nord Mod control
verbtest: 8(dsp limit)
Software:
Samplitude, Nuendo, cooledit,
etc. etc. the usual bunch. I don't use Gigasampler tho, for no reason.
I use Triton as sequencer cuz I'm just so used to it.
Hardware gear: Triton, Trinity, Nord Mod, Nord Electro 73, Yamaha QY (this guy's cute), a pair of cheap congas, a djembe (that I hit with a stick), a bunch of Chinese instruments, and a cellphone. Oh yeah, a SHURE Beta 58a and Focusrite Vocalmaster.
Have a look!

Yup, it's waay too messy for anyone serious. But I'm getting ready to move the setup to a different location so what the hell.
See that TV behind the monitor? That's got to be atleast as old as I am!

Ok, NO photo of my ultra-messy workspace.
System:
Win98SE
Pulsar 3.01b
Intel Celeron 1200 FCPGA2
3x128MB Infineon PC-100 (selected)
Asus TUSL2-C
Zalman 300W ultrasilent PSU
Ati Radeon VE dualhead
2 additional Papst fans, one for the DSPs, one for better airflow
ADI microscan 6P 19" (1600x1200) and Sony 15" sf2 (1280x1024)
Pulsar 2 classic I/O
Powerpulsar classic I/O
Adaptec 29160 SCSI
27GB Maxtor IDE (System, programs, i-net stuff, a few games)
30GB Maxtor IDE (music, pictures, videos, backup of some audiodata and some programs)
2x18GB Seagate Cheetah 10k rpm SCSI external (audiodata only; tracking, sampling, mastering)
Samsung DVD and Samsung CD-RW, both IDE
2xA16 (old)
Midex8
Level One USB ethernet adapter
fanatec C&C Edition Trackball (the one with the lights inside)
Midi input devices:
Yamaha CBX-K2 Midi keyboard
Roland Octapad2 (PAD-80)
Axon NGC-66 neural guitar-to-midi converter
Monitoring:
2x Quested F11
1x Quested VS1112
Behringer 602a
...and some outboard gear of course;
mics, FX, synths, dynamics, tube preamp...
and a nice DAT porty with an even nicer stereo mic (soundman OKM2) for sample-hunting.
Now, what I REALLY lack is a place to work, a studio room. The one that I was close to get suddenly became unreachable (the owner decided to not let it for rent anymore but use it himself instead)

ah, what I forgot to mention:
System run´s very good, "Subtest" gives me 12 MVs max, up to 9 will make no big difference in overall performance, and the 13th will finally slow it all down to zero. But no PCI-overflow messages at all, never seen on this MoBo!

uploaded pic, in my user setup.
its nice and green, and i have a few planties (only can see the lucky bamboo). and an orange seat which looks like the dogs got after it...hehe.
its rather boring looking outside my windows, but i think it is very important for myself at least...to be facing them.
when i wasn't prior to it, just felt like i was staring into a void...even more isolated than i ought to feel. at the very least in view of some.
thought of something for the mac users that is rather important.
extension sets.
i can't be bothered to list mine now, but you know...anyhow i don't have any conflicts. though i do run as lean as i can get away with.
