You Keep Hangin' In There Brosky and check your pm next time.
Your well being is more important than the placement, although I do agree w/ Kylie, it's a little late to change now.
I need a little more info to help you out so your time down may be easier.

Those Chicago winds are cold enough to put another carack in you ass, stay warm.

Thanks for your offer Jimmy.

My hands are sure cracked already.
My ass is OK so far and I miss Chicago though. I just don't fit in with all the festivities going on in the Loop.

Well, I am not special (even though many many people make feel special) although I am different in many ways.
most of us are.
To explain this I would have to tell you my entire life story. Do you want to know it?
to explain what? why you put this announcement into the Announcement forum instead of the Off Topic section (where at least you attract as much interest as here) , or why you are different? if the latter applies, get your typing fingers ready.

-greetings, markus-
I'm sorry, I was sarcastic, that's why I put this unusual announcement in here. I like to break rules.
And I meant, I was different from the people that I share a roof with. Most are severely addicted something. Maybe I belong here too, someone thinks I was addicted to sex (masturbation to be precise).

Too much info Bingo....

Anyway, good luck on the walkabout... I'm sure it'll be a character building experience. Life is worth living for the experiences it throws our way.

Mark

I really hope this won't last long term for you. Are you in apparent danger? Do you see no way out? Let me know if things completely spin out of control. While the experience may be positive, I'm sure it is equally possible that the mind adapts and teaches itself to be content with the situation. Then once you form resistance to change, it will fall into a negative spiral from there.

Do you have any life lines? People that will back you up in the worst case scenario? Near by relatives? Friends? Loss of material goods is not as deadly as a total loss of a support network. Just remember, your mind will always tell you things are alright. Doubt it. Even if you have a wounded leg in the jungle, your mind will tell you it's alright. It allows you to function. But feeling alright doesn't solve the situation. You need to use that peace of mind so you can think up a solution.

Also, draw a bottom line, a lower limit to call for help. Consciously make the decision, and be clear to yourself about it. Once you reach that point, force yourself to call for help. Here on Z, your friends, wherever. Set a date and goal. If you are not financially sustainable at date Y, then you will re-assess the situation. If you do not a have a sustainable job at date Y, you will write to Z ppl about possible jobs, etc.

Changing your perspective on life through homelessness may be an awesome thing, but I think being homeless is also a serious situation. You still have a network (ppl network) you can use, so maintain it, and use it. This network you still have, that can potentially bring you out of homelessness, is what makes you not a unrecoverable homeless person.

...and if Red offers you a temp room, leave the shithole and use it as an experinence you'd never had elsewhere! a good way to turn around a false negative :)

I'm actually quite worried. The economy won't recover in the short term... I'd give it a year or two minimum. And the country is going to be overcrowded with homeless unemployed people. I think it's only a matter of time before people like Bingo (who still have societal ties) get washed away in the rush.

I don't have a network and I don't have a family either.
I am fine so far.
I'd like to find a way to get my DAW, Native Instruments DVDs, my Canon 5D camera and a bunch of other stuff back from my former sister's house. But I can't be there without police being present since I have called and told police I wanted to kill them. It's a long story but in a nutshell, after a year in therapy, I realised I was in a DISSOCIATED STATE (see Dissociation on Wikipedia) or suffering from psychogenic amnesia, the traumatic event being sexual abuse by my former father. They knew I was starting to remember and they tried to provoke me so that I could get arrested and avoid a confrontation with my former father. I'm still free just because of my very strong desire to be non-violent.
I don't want to get into dirty details right now.
I'll tell you what I'll do. I'll stay low for the rest of the remainder of the holiday season
and then I'll come back and talk more.
Thank you very much for your help offers. I am fine and I've met many caring people (actually I've met more people than in the last 20 years of my life, that's why I have very hard time remembering their names)

Courage, brother, I wish you a renewed harmony with yourself and I trust these events will open up on something better for you.

well, can't say I haven't had that feeling yet (wanting to break rules ;)). so I'm ok with it.
And I meant, I was different from the people that I share a roof with. Most are severely addicted something.
well, then I can only hope for your situation to improve. may the doors of the churches you rest your head in never be closed for you.

Well, I won't pretend that I can understand what kind of pain and ugliness you have gone through, Bingo, but you have my sympathy. In the unlikely (but never-say-never) scenario of you being in the 'maritime' provinces of Canada, I would be more than happy to help you stabilize your life and get back on track.
