Hi, I've just hooked the optical output from my xbox 360 (running in Digital stereo mode) to the S/P-DIF/ADAT A input of my classic 20 pulsar 2 so i can play it through my monitors. I'm getting crackling pretty much constantly from anything the xbox outputs, the crackling and clicks are more pronouced from higher level sounds (in fact i think there is no crackle present for signals with a lowish RMS level).
The sample rate in scope is set to 48khz and is the master device. I've narrowed the problem down to the scope input in SPDIF mode (the input works fine for ADAT, with all 8 channels crystal clear but I haven't been able to test SPDIF mode with another device. I have been able to test 2 other optical amps with the xbox and they work fine) ULLI settings are set to 4ms.
I though at first it's some sort of sample rate problem but i'm not sure. After analysis of the waveform, the crackles are caused by 192 samples of silence every now and then. Any ideas on what could be going wrong on the scope side of things would be greatly appreciated....i'll try and figure if the xbox 360 has the problem...(but it does work fine when plugged into other amps)
cheers!
Optical S/P-dif input crackling conundrum.

Try to set scope to slave.I doubt the xbox is accepting another digital wordclock master.

whoops.
I didn't have S/P-DIF selected as the sync source master...cheers!
works like a charm now. 2 sets of ADAT source/destinations...my DAW set-up on B, my gaming on A. 7 years on and this card keeps on giving...
