In the recording Tab there's no asio scope, it's not available in the list, and I'm getting this error message (3rd photo), once i choose asio scope in the playback tab / after clicking yes on the ok, wavelab hang, and i need to end the process in wavelab to start over.

Please help, should i reinstall scope...like wavelab first ( like cubase)

you may need to set Wavelab to asio in Scope mode first. then close wavelab, then Scope, then start Wavelab.

you cannot use asio with Wavelab at the same time as Cubase(you can use mme wave or wdm with Wavelab and asio with Cubase at the same time).....

you don't need to install Scope after Cubase. you only need the stuff installed properly. if it works in Cubase, it MUST work with Wavelab.

Wavelab doesn't show Scope in recording, when you select for playback it's selected for both automatically (and recording gets greyed out).

I also notice you're using 16bit ASIO drivers but have 24bit recording selected in Wavelab. I suggest you use the following modules instead in Scope: ASIO2 24bit Source & ASIO2 Dest

Also garyb is correct, you can't have another application using the Scope's ASIO drivers.

Hi, Thanks guys for reply.

@garyb:
you may need to set Wavelab to asio in Scope mode first. then close wavelab, then Scope, then start Wavelab.
I did that but still the same problem, I'm getting that there's no driver for such hardware installed in this computer.

And the weird that when i open sfp / XTCpro i can choose asio driver in wavelab, and i can work with it, i can assign each output...or input.

@Valis, i changed to asio2 24, and i'm not using any other software that's using asio, anyway i have only wavelab 6.1 installed.

Any more info can i offer might help?

Ok I think I understand a bit better, you're trying to use XTC mode. The problem there is that in pure "XTC mode" the scope project doesn't load until the plugins load. Wavelab looks for a driver FIRST, before scanning plugins. I don't have any experience with XTC mode & Wavelab myself, but I'm not sure it's a worthwhile combination. The main reason is because any processing you do in wavelab using XTC plugins will be realtime anyway, and so I don't know how wavelab handles this. Also since it's realtime you might as well use the plugins directly in Scope yourself just looping the audio out an asio output pair then back in through the recording channels (taking care not to get a feedback loop). Perhaps someone wtih experience using XTC can speak up and clarify further if I'm missing something...

When not using XTC, the correct sequence of events is to run Scope, load the project with the i/o you want to use (ie, your project with the ASIO drivers), then load Wavelab and do your work.

Also if you want to be able to change Scope projects during working you'll either need to close wavelab or set it to 'release ASIO driver in background' so that it doesn't complain (or crash!) when the scope drivers reload on changing projects.

Thanks Guys,

Well now i'm able to use wavelab in asio, but only if i keep SFP open, as xtc project or normal project, even in asio mode i can assign a plug as external hardware witch wavelab offer to do.

but i'm not able to load scope plugs into wavelab at all.

@okantah, sorry man, i didn't get you exactly do you mean it must load wave S/D in normal project or in XTC then save/ open wavelab...

Hi,

I don't have Wavelab, but when I try to use XTC with a host, I try 1rst SFP with the host.

Check you have correctly configured your XTC mode:
check that you disabled the default startup project launched at power on
patch the XTCproject.pro (and not XTC.pro)

- if you do not enabled xtc when you installed your scope software, you'll have to copy all the dll under your host vsti and fx directory.

Sometime, you get an error involving riff.exe,. You can solve this by copying your scope_45/app/bin/riff.exe under your host directory

Cheers

Basically the fellow who started this thread was trying to use 'XTC mode' while in Wavelab. When XTC mode debuted it was meant for users who had existing soundcards and wanted to add dsp based effects to their VST hosts. So when using Scope/SFP in XTC mode, by default it assumes you have another soundcard installed and only uses the Scope dsp cards for processing of effects. Your ASIO drivers & I/O won't load until the host requests the XTC plugins, which means that when wavelab first starts it doesn't "see" the scope ASIO drivers.

The solution is to run Scope/SFP.exe *before* running wavelab.
