As I continue to abuse my HDD's running Gigastudio 4 and other streaming ROMplers I cam to realise that my old taken for granted LCD, which works great as far as I can tell, gets little thanks, as I am so use to it never being a problem. I expect it to work.
But I have a problem it seems. My mouse ( trackball w/ 2 x buttons ) is stuck in a certain area of the LCD, and works it way up to the top few inches, and stays there !! ( %*^&**)
I have unplugged everything, including power, since USB can retain enough power to still stay clogged up, and re-booted, several times, just to see the same baloney happening.
It's killing me, especially since I spent hours on an International phone call last night doing syncrosft BULL Shit, etc. I recently ruined an 8GB USB stick somehow, and can't explain it, and my Intel DP35DP uses USB ports w/o PS/2 or parallel.
When a monito goes bad does it begin causing problems w/ the mouse, while still appearing to work.
Or could this be the downside of a USB only world, that I am starting to become increasingly frustrated with?
Before I try buying anything new, I will get a new USB QWERTY, and Mouse, since they are cheap. But I bought this 1U 4 Port KVM/ QWERTY w/ trackball new, and have never experienced a mouse going bad before. And no drivers are necessary anymore with all of this USB only crap.
Any similar experiences w/ a mouse bring limited to the upper area of an LCD before?

mouse driver got the wrong screen reolution?
can you draw a rectangle on the screen with the mouse, as high as it will go, while the mouse button is still pressed and you have the rectangle visible, do a p[rintscreen screen cap, then open it in an image program and see if the upper limit is the same amount of pixels as a standard screen resolution.

Wow.
That's the sound of a trained professional at work.
I am out gallavanting round the town, so when I get back w/ my new USB QWERTY & Mouse, I will try your idea first. I could always use these as pares anyway.
Thanks guys.

Fixed......
It's the usual story, less is more.
I bought this 1U 4 Port KVM QWERTY / Trackball drawer back when I had a dual DAW onstage. It worked but I soon recieved GVI and suddenly realized I didn't need 2 x DAW's anymore, and the builds GaryB did for me never cxrashed once, so I went to a single DAW and kept the 1U since it was cool and conveient.
But it is meant to run 4 servers and is really overkill, so it is history.
I went to office depot and spent 21 bucks for a pair of USB Kbd./ Mouse. Less is definately more.
My new chassis will have everything mounted, and is perfect for the stage. But at home, it will be the simple, cheap reliable peripherrals.
I have lost 2 nights of productivity between the Syncrosoft jive, and this overbloated KB / KVM dealy.
Back to work slave !! ...........

Re: USB Only On The New Intel MoBo's Is Scarry !
this is gonna sound stupid, but I get the exact same problem of the pointer moving towards the top right of the screen and staying there.
It winds me up somthing crazy.
Luckily I know how to fix it always.
Such a thing on my ~DAWg means that the battery in the wireless mouse needs changing.
So in my experience, I would say the trackball isnt getting enough juice
