Are you sure this box is 38CM long so is the same as a full length pc slot.
I do not know about the new sonic-core drivers but it looks at face value to be possible reading the spec.
I don't know the PCI specs in detail, so this may not be of any relevance at all, but my Pulsar One is PCI 2.1 compliant, a 2nd generation Scope card is 2.2 and this box is 2.3 - just for information. -?
a scope project aka pulsar 2 will definitely not fit into that case. I am the proud owner meanwhile
bill had to bend the case to fit one. I had no time to test 2 lunas until now, since that case has some other purpose atm. I will test that, but not for the next weeks. I have no pulsar 1, so I cannot tell whether it would fit or not. bill said, he didn't get more than one card running together, so I expect no miracles here, but I want to learn that myself with my 2 lunas, somehow .

I did review this box few months ago on planetz (just check with the search option) ... I could only make 1 sole soniccore board (or uad) work. This product is not very professional to me (not robust), period. Sorry ...
well, I was talking, indeed, about the short version. the link seemed so familiar that I didn't check back.
but the internals seem to be the very same. so just because you are able to fit a long card (even scope professional) into, that does not say it supports more than one at a time.

actually, as mentionned I had only one uad and several soncicore board for the test. May be the stdm cable takes the blame, but you CANNOT link several soniccore boards. At least, i could not succed ... As for the uad, may be it is possible, i don't know. Believe me, this gear is not very robust so it must not be moved (gigs, travel). That's what i remember....
you say you cannot link several (well of course 3 is max) sonic core boards but my bet is that you havent tried the mod this guys talking about. I think maybe you also didn't check (and read properly) the 1st link to the longer box.
Yes thanks for your earlier review it was helpful but...did you review the long box? I seem to remember it was the 1st one that came out. The shorter one..no?

it didnt work for you because without the psu mod it barely has enough power for 1 uad so it definitely wont power more than 1 scope
but yes I realize it's not a mobile solution...just for studio probably.
still it would be good if you or someone else could try this mod if you have the time.
yes, you are right, that was the shortest one ... If I remember well, the psu was indeed very small so I am not amazed this can be the main problem. As far as i can remember, the scope borads were not recognized. Buuut, I could install one scope board + 1 uad and it worked perfectly. Again, I used it with my desktop PC (intel motherboard) and the price was very low too. So, it may be worth it but it is still risky IMHO. Sorry I have no time for testing but they sent me the product for review and the support was good and friendly ....
bcslaam, do you have access to the files provided in the thread? I would have to sign up there to see them, and I don't see a specific reason right now (although, being owner of an uad card, it would be an idea... )

what a pile of rubbish...
here's how it's properly done in 3 minutes
buy an ATX cord extender, remove the ones needed (from the destination connector) and solder them to the places marked
take a small cable cutter and cut through the 3 pins of the regulators marked
(a drop of solder will close the gap later, if you want to undo the mod)
the hand soldering is visible anyway, so no chance for any warranty whatsoever
I somehow had the hope that somebody would chime in and say something like that...
I might reread those pages and delegate the soldering part to our intern, then. he already did a decent job unsoldering the volume pot from my woofer, so why not give him another go...?!
