well.... if i ever get 99 euro to spend, they are going to go to das! this reverb sounds sweet!
but tell me DAS. is it really impossible to make smooth pots? i mean, to be able to change a parameter without hearing the flickering sounds??

That's true when you change the size you have the same flickering sound on RMX160, D-verb REV 224 and P100. Seems they have all the same problem .That's not a real problem for me, i don't change this parameter 10 times on a mix

RMX160 uses : inL = inL +( FX ) and inR = inR+( FX ) where ( FX ) is the reverberator . RMX 160 respect all the stereo integrity of the original sound as long as you use stereo FX send and you can verify it easily. Anyway P100 is still one of the best reverb i ever heard.

Thats because we're changing the internal delay lines on the fly - if we should prevent that behavior we should use interpolation for the delay lines. The X100 reverbs are all true stereo reverbs - i.e. NO summing of the L+R channels. An easy test would be to use a mono signal for the left channel and the inverse signal for the right channel - if the algorithm has internal summing before the reverb algorithm the result would then be silence at the outputs.

I tried these reverbs for a day and decided to buy them, as I was already using the demos to create long reverb tails for short impulses of sound and sampling them for FX. The sound is really really smooth, especially when you pull the reverb size and time all the way up and listen to the softly decaying tail.
Also quite good value for money IMO.

I used a pair of 42's and a Model 93 way back when on synths, and yes they were fierce weapons.
I am w/o any hardware reverb now since I sold all of my Lexicons so I could afforf the Model 7 from Bricasti.
In the meantime I can't master any drum tracks and I am burning daylight.
Went into my Scope bag of tricks to dig up a reverb. Thinking they will kill my current 14 DSP set-up I started w/ MV Pro & Classic. Just don't really care for their sound. Tried many others then grabbed the RMX160A and made a great kick preset since I didn't need any tail. then loaded a second for the snare, a third for the toms, and 4th in the BUS1 for overhead mixed w/ Gigapulse mic modelling. Sahhwweeett.
It takes the sizzle out of my cymbal samples, so just used 4 on Kick, snare, Toms, and BUS 1. It's no PCM91 but the RMX160A's sound fine in this example.
I was happy to see they don't eat up the DSP and sound fine on quality source material like Larry Seyers Drums.
If the RMX160A's sound O.K. I bet the REV 224 really shines.
Being able to use the FP106C mixer w/ 3 of the AUX's filled, and a 4th on the BUS 1 using a 14DSP card is just a serious bang for the buck.
Sorry I never looked at these more closely.

I gotta hear that. If that works the way I am hoping it would, an LFO could be attached to the size parameter so that if placed in an AUX, an entire drum mix could be moved further away in the mix in real time w/ no zippers. One knob, one move....sahhweeet !!

Well since I was born in the State of Missouri, our great State is called the " Show Me State ", so show me. Whoever gets the update, please describe if the transition during the increase / decrease of the size parameter works in real time.
If that's the case I must buy this immediately, one less meal to buy for the unappreciative kids during vacation. I can just see the look in their faces as I explain the function of the new reverb while they eat a Baloney sandwich.

Well, since I was still owing one sample to this thread, here are three simple samples of the new REV224 LCD on a basic drum loop , taken from a magazine DVD. The reverb is place in line with the loop, instead of an AUX send, and the Delays are Off.
: this is 4 beats of the dry loop, then progressively increasing the Dry/Wet mix to full wet, and back down a little.
: this is 47% Dry/Wet, "Time" is fixed, "Size" varies. No zippers, but it seems that the output of that module is muted while the parameters are being changed, and only returns after it's stabilized for some time. It's not easy to hear the effect from a sample, since you don't know when I'm changing or not, but when you hear a slight drop in the sound, it's because the Size is being changed, and as soon as I stop, there is the reverb again.
: Last one, all parameters fixed, "Time" varies from 0 to Full then back a little, and there's a little bit of tail
I hope this is useful. Please take in consideration these are very simple examples.
IMO, the zipless Size variation can work if done fast enough, ie via a MIDI message or a fast fade instead of a continuous, subtle change of a controller. It you try to change it slowly and evenly, the output is muted most of the time, but if you make a jump, it works well.
