New BETA's To Test

Post by dawman »

I have always managed to get sponsors since I lost my management a few years ago.

It helps to be a performer, but this will be something completely different for me.

These are wireless 4 way ear monitors with a built in microphone of high quality also. They were originally designed for pilots, but special kits can be made where drivers and mics can be added.

I will have 4 pairs of these as soon as I can get the silicon melted and fitted into my new players ears.

We then send the profiles off to the sponsor and they are built.

Naturually I am very excited and proud to use and try these.

Unfortunately I cannot release the information on the mics and drivers, but these designs are earlier patents from the owner / developers previous company, which he was very sucessful with.

I used 6 headsets and a custom mixer from DAS to pull off a live production where Scope cards proved to be the most stable live audio solution I ever used, or heard of for that matter.

I pray that XITE-1 will be the same.

you mean, this is your friend.. ahem, ahem?? nudge nudge? He started his own operation? Sounds very promising! I mean.. the former operation is the industry standard. Fill us in once you get to test it out!

Trying to get 4 musicians to show up at an audiologist for impressions is a chore in itself.

Singers and Guitarists are always whining " I can't hear myself ", yet when you tell them I have 10 large worth of free audio equipment to resolve the sniveling, I hear them cry about how it costs 80 USD for an appointment.

I wish I could get some information on the upcoming mixers in XITE-1, I am sure there will be some new stuff. We had a muted mains talkback feature on the DAS MM that was perfect, especially w/ cackling hens in between songs. It's a real must have.

I'll keep you posted.

They make really useful stuff for live guys.

Olive used Scope as a live PA many times and also with wireless communications so his expertise and ideas come from experience.

His experience w/ multitudes of hardware live is also a bonus.

I have been messing w/ the DAS MM lately and trust me, singers are a constant source of irrataion.

First off, they believe that everyone is there to hear them, and the musicians should be grateful 4 this. Ha !!

They are in such a hurry to continue their dillusional attitude after the song, as they continue cackling while the FX are still on, and really enjoy giving instructions out loud to the FOH for unecessary adjustments.

Thankfully Olive knows that. His talkback feature along w/ Scope's ability to use extensive MIDI controls allows a well versed Pulsarian to elimimate many annoying characteristics of these narcassitic bafoons.

For example if one were to use SpaceF's CC5 or CC8 and the DAS talkback feature, he/she could have a footswitch and 3 or 4 MIDI CC's attached to it so when you step on it, the mains are muted, and all effects are bypassed. What a concept 'eh?

Anyway that's how we do it on the big jobs.

Hopefully DAS continues such nifty live tools, so us " peasant performers " csn enjoy moments of silence when we perform. Did I forget to mention the fact that our old FOH could actually mute a singers vocal from individual headsets also? :D The price of the DAS MM was worth that feature right there.

Well since I said I would share info in regards to the custom wireless mic / monitors,...here ya' go.

At first glance one might think it was a colorful impression of a well hung Hamster, or Prarie Dog, but it is my ear. Which BTW looks really disgusting on 30 X magnifiacation video scope.

I cost me 200 USD to get 4 impressions made, and it was like pulling teeth to get musicians out of bed to make the appointments.

Live performers are a breed apart no doubt.
