How can I change irq?
I have the sound card on 21
and 1394 device on 21
How can I fix this?
how i can change irq ?
move the card to another slot or shut down the firewire.
another option is to reinstall windows in standard pc. however, depending on the physical architecture of the motherboard, you may STILL get sharing. if you must have the card in that slot AND you really need firewire, then get a pci-e firewire card and disable the built in 1394....

I like to join this.
im installing my new system, and its the irq 18 (usb) which is shared with my card in the 3rd slot of my Gigabyte Ds3R.
This bios contains also a menu of irq settings auto/manual.
I tried those, but it behaves like ever since - that it doesnt take an effect.
Now i swapped it to the other slots and if i take the first one, which is of course
near to the grafics i get irq 20, which is not shared.
i would have to install some music apps to test if the grafics has any effect on the sound.
do you have any experience with nowadays grafics, if they cause interfering sound?
I guess you would say i have to test....?
The other possibilitiy is to switch off some of that usbs, the ones on irq 18
I would still have 2 in the back and two in the front as i tested.
Funny side effect:
Thwo of these usb ports (that i disabled) behave like usb 1.0.
What would you do?
Would it make a difference if i take out all possible components when doing a fresh install?
i´d like to stay with ACPI.
Thank you!

absurd
absurd.
I managed to make it work but (thinking the wrong way)
Presonus digimax Master
World clock distributes to other devices Slave
A16 ultra Slave
scope Slave
Roland Slave.
So 'work but in the samplerate project is set to master.
So strange but true 'not me dropout problems, I have not yet tried but' to record mic with zlink source.
if set slave scope in this configuration compare this message """"division by zero""""
Stuff crazy.

usb2.0 handles a fair amount of data. most current motherboards have 6 or more usb controllers and 2-4 usb2.0 controllers. you can afford to disable quite a few before you will have a problem, or even before you find usb ports not working....
i've had a midi controller, dongle, memorystick and cd burner on a hub with no issues. the virus could still have it's own port, only 1 usb2.0 controller and 1 or 2 usb controllers would be required. a mouse and keyboard could likely be in the mix too, but one more usb controller would seal the deal.

don't forget with a USB 2.0 port connected to a USB 2.0 hub - if ANY of the devices plugged into the hub are running at USB 1.1 speeds, then ALL the devices will then be forced to run at USB 1.1 speeds - a single port can't mix and match speeds
which is the reason why each port on a motherboard is actually and independent USB controller

changing XP mode
I think I've some problems with my two Pulsar cards on the new DAW with DFI Infinity dark-S Motherboard and a Q6600 CPU.
The same problems due to IRQ sharings as I had on previous DAW in ACPI mode (resolved passing to PC Standard Mode).
I didn't make till now to change IRQ and impose a private one for the two Pulsars.
So, I was wandering about different Win XP modes:
PC standard: does a Multicore CPU still work as it should iunder this mode?
MPS Multiprocessor: What's this mode? Similar to ACPI Multiprocessor.. but NOT ACPI and more similar to Standard PC (but Multicore support). Or is for physical multi processor on boards, as for XEON CPU's??
I tried to convert my actual Win XP config to those two modes, but after initial conversion, the system didn't make to restart at following reboot. Don't know what went wrong.
(So I used my backup to rebuild in a few minutes the previous working OS).
Before trying to install them from scratch I would like to know if they work with a Q6600 multicore CPU aa in ACPI mode.
Any here know the answer?
I didn't find this clue searching around on net...
Thanks a thousand in advance!
