im afraid everything doesn't revolve around you and your shopping habits Braincell. If it's not your cup of tea, leave it. its that simple.
I suggest you make an own thread in general scope or off topic section where you can vent your frusrations instead of spreading it around everywhere. Would be easier to follow, tho it might not get so much attention (which i guess is your reason for spreading it around).
Best of luck to you.

That is one of the few items in 4.5 I don't have most of the other "new" items I do have because I bought them before. I'm not sure if anything is really new in 4.5. It's just a bunch of stuff they previously were selling. It makes it difficult to justify buying when you have bought most of what is in it. I guess the longer you wait, the better the deal is but not in the case of version 4.5 because the cost just doubled.
That is clear to me now. Why the hell they put the 4.5 name on it is beyond me and the price suddenly being twice what is was makes you wonder what the value of any of this is. Even they don't seem to know.

did you really think you got something for free that would normally cost money to anyone else? oh well, Creamware is no longer in existance and S/C is new management, so it doesn't make much difference anyway. the point is, if you PAY for 4.5 or bought a new card that came with 4.5, 5.0 is free. if you don't or didn't pay for 4.5, you have to pay for 5.0. that's all there is, there ain't no more.
i dunno what all this has to do with the new pluggiator demo, but it'd be nice if we could keep the debate about the 5.0 update in 1 or 2 threads that were about it. this is a problem that pz hasn't really had in the past. let's not make it the new way of doing things(going way ot on many, many threads unnecessarily).
Gary,
You want me to stay on the topic yet you just asked me a question which is off the topic. Don't ask me a question and then expect me not to answer it.
I never said that it should be free. Why would I expect it to be free?
I expect current audio drivers to be free and bugs to be fixed for free. Fixing bugs is the duty of any company when the product is faulty and yes it is the way that most companies act. If they can't afford to fix bugs, they should not be in business.
SC should be forced to buy back duplicate modules or give credits towards modules we don't have. Duplicate modules are totally useless. If you already own modules in a SFP or a bundle, it lowers the value to the customer. Why should someone have to pay for modules they already own? None of this would matter if it was inexpensive but it is quite expensive but then someone will say it's not because of all you get but a lot of it you already bought before.

braincell,
the product isn`t faulty at all.
the old drivers worked fine.
and they did it over ~ roughly 6 years. So you cannot expect product support for 100 of years.
A normal product lifetime is 2 maybe 3 or 4 years. Scope has lived from windows 98 times..... so you cannot expect free drivers for windows 2025 also.
and finally it has been said many times: the driver is free but not for a product that is 6 or 7 years old like scope 3.1 or 4.0
If you do an upgrade for 200 bucks you get the driver, one of the plug-in pack S&S or M&M and finally a bunch of new fx from scope 5.0 ( a new reverb, 2 new comps and a new channel eq) + some additional features and maybe some bugfixes.
There is nothing bad about that deal.
And if you really feel that this is too much asked. Then search for a cheap luna or something like that for 100 bucks that comes with scope 4.5. So you get some additional I/Os and another 3 dsps for free.

if you still think its a bad deal: get this one

thats wrong, if you buy a new car, you get 3 years warranty or something like that, in that period things will get fixed for free.braincell wrote:They have to fix all bugs from products currently sold. It doesn't matter how old the product is if it is still being sold.
From then on you have to pay,
even if the lineup is still available to buy new.
Witn scope its not the hardware, its the software you buy.
Your last purchase is an old software pack. So if you wanna keep it up to date you simply have to pay.
the card is just the platform to run the software.
if creamware would only sell hardware and deliver product support over decades for free, they would have gone insolvent even much earlier.
Someone else is going to buy the car I bought last year today and they will suffer from the bug and there will be no answer from the company because they don't care.
Dude, the Mod III is still for sale. It doesn't matter when I bought it. Today someone will buy it, work with it for a couple of hours, open up his project the next day, and all his work will be deleted. You can't understand that? They have to fix it for the new guy don't they? You don't understand this?
Sonic Core can't say it's Creamware's fault because Sonic Core is selling it.

mmh,
the best idea would be if you simply write a pm to sc or ralf.
Simply because if you whine inside this forum, nothng will change.
maybe one of the few employees at SC will sit down and program you an extra vista driver for scope 4.0 and 3.1 and all the other old versions. That will only need 1/2 year.

what i want to say is that its economically not possible to handle an update for each scope version.
