Thanks for your reply.You are right in what you say - but you still have to play the sequencer and record to another track (or another program). I don't do this anymore - I just bounce the song to a WAV file, and the more I think of it - it never goes through any of these devices for this process.

SONAR has the ability to route to "external devices" now - so maybe something like this would work.

LimFat is available for download from the Fat Inserts User Area.

The FAT can be placed before or after the limiter. When placed after (default graphic position) then it is a close to a FAT II algorythm, whereas it is the FAT I when placed before. Inlcudes other options. Made to remain quite light, even on Scope's dsps

Valve mixers are updated in terms of interface (much faster UI/vus etc), not the circuit itself which is the same at the moment. I know the original FAT sounds great with a TI so i don't see why it would not with a DSI, especially as a group limiter for all or some of the outputs.
The limiter can take a rather plain synth bass and add a lot of attack to it. I use it all the time in LBH now, as a group limiter and it really works well like that.

The TI is digital, the Tetra is analogue and it might be a bit "jumpy" sometimes...
Anyway, the "jumpy" one is the Juno.
I think I want the limiter "before" the fat for this one

nope, nothing else, well Preset list name changed to LimFat v2 and there is no DSP on/off setting on the EQ which is replaced by the bypass button...
v2 is not a new version that would make v1 outdated, not at all. It is a lighter version that was asked by some users, the algo is the same.... (well, half of it...). It can replace the original LimFat or even the original Fat Inserts sometimes, but not always...

Even if you are not near your rig, you should connect once to my site so i can activate your account (unless you did already which is good)...

On synths, the limiter before the FAT IS the way to go : the FAT "loudness" becomes more apparent and more "steady", and it gives better dimension to the sound. This is a matter of taste though, and what you are looking for in terms of rendering.

On the DSI, you will be able to add pseudo-compression of attacks with LimFat (try attack of less than 60ms, release around 150/200 and a ratio like "soft, medium or strong" (not too much in fact). Threshold does not need to be low, a gain loss of 6/12dB is generally enough (but well, you know, everyone has his favorite settings...).
The EQ high shelf will be handy to get brightness in case of high limiting/fattening, and to remove a few bass frequencies if needed... (by 1 or 2dB , may be 3).

Limfat on a mix of 2 or 4 synths sounds with their effects (especially delays and modulation like flangers/phasers) - all going to LimFat- is what i advise you to try (on everything actually, not only synth groups)

Totally agree on that.
But I also think adding LimFat v2 seperately on any external analog using the Brickwall setting will alleviate the volume jumps on preset changes. I love Analog as long it blends well and fortunately with the LimFat's this is as easy as pie.

BTW, I ran the big polyphonic Oberheims through Scope a few years ago and when I used the Source Stereo Module for the XPander, I added the Stereo Enhancer pre mixer for that extra wide sound and, once SpaceF & Wolf's Delays grabbed the 2 channels thing were really big.
The Roland Choruse would benefit from the Stereo Exapnder in a huge way.
You have the 106....? If so that Buzzy Bastard'll slap 'em around.

My B2003 is a blast and sounds very close to the real deal, but with a little effort the B2003 is much better than a real B3.
The B3 is a little too BEE-IGG, to use the swells and dranwbars requires 2 hands, which isn't feasible at my gigs as I have to use one hand for Horns or String comps while playing the B2003.
The best thing about 1 handed playing though was I could always control my levels.
This wasn't easy on the B2003, but with the SpaceF CC Devices,and the LimFat's it's breeze.
On the B2003, especially when using ODrive the difference in volume from the Full blown drawbars versus the basic preset where the first 4 drawbars are used in 6-8-5-4 settings, is too overbearing. So LimFat is my choice because it has the FAT's, and also 2 Band EQ which is a small DSP footprint, while still being effective.
