Use Audio welcome: 25 Shop Plugins for the price of one
I like that SC is taking action to protect their (=my) interests, but it is strange and seems a bit unfortunate that the situation arose at all. It is hard to see what could be accomplished by this price dump - except maybe for some loose change from a couple of licenses.
But then again, there might be a lot more details to the CW split and relations between these two (three?) companies that we don't know.
Hope this thing doesn't distract these companies too much from what they *should* be focusing on...

Well, I'm not really surprised by the current development ( the red printed warning on the SC site actually).
Imagine this conversation:
A. Thanks for calling, we'd like you to stop selling platform plugs for dump
prices, what'd ya think? Hm, the coffee is good here.
B. I can't do that, I need it to force a kick start for the P-Machyne.
And I do nothing against our contract, as you know.
A. True, it was a surprise to all.
You noticed the aversion on Planetz against the offer?
B. Yes, but look at the Poll, it's almost 50-50.
And we sold a lot, oh sorry for that one.
A. Right, so let's face it: if you stay at your point, there's only one possibility left
for Grand@dCorn: we have to change the keys when the next version get's
released.
Would you prefer that? Your new customers will have a problem then.
B. I can't stop you, but I would regret it. Let's be just good competitors.
A. Yes, but you have acces to my wallet.
B. Sadly you agreed...
Waittress!...
A. No, I pay...

So, do the bundle-plugins work with the Plugiator as well?
If not, someone is playing tricks with us ...
Use-Audio should sell all the plugins for 195 Euro for the Plugiator if they are keen on bargains but they mustn't threaten our SONIC CORE Platform.
Excerpt from the Use-Audio website:
"Still can´t get enough? There is room for more: Four more plug-ins will be available for optional online purchase at nice prices."
Only four, at nice prices? 25 Plugins for 195 Euro for Plugiator!!!!!

hello!
I saw this plugiator stuff has only an adat out! Are they crazy??
I sold my whole creamware scope pulsar cards, and the only thing I regret deeply is not to have the mixer and the environment with the drag&drop cables anymore, especially the ton of sidechainable plugins were great, but of course some didnt remember the settings after save - however, I want this back, and what do they make?
One Adat OUT?! Oh please god say it´s a pre model, or a mistake, how in hell will I ever be able to use this great creamware stuff again without having to change my motherboard to avoid hazzles with IRQ and similar jokes...
Oh lord...(ok there is no god, but still it sounds good) oh lord...please let somebody make a little dsp box with lots of digital connection and an usb for putting the environment on the screen and then I can finally mix again with my card. I use lynx as my main soundcard now, and it is far better sound and jitterwise than creamware, but I so sadly miss the creamware mixer, you first touch a button, then you can already fine adjust with alt and ctrl or shift the parameter, until the sound kicks!! - damn, cubase cant do it, no other software I know does this - this is a detail, but it is a kick ass super profi detail, and it really helps - mixing in scope was heaven - if they got rid with their problems with IRQ and slow graphics, I would not have sold all of my cards, but now I wish some smartheads had implemented MORE ADATS, but they didn't
Now I think about getting another computer, just to have my scope environment, but I´m sick of researching with what components the scope cards will work, look ad uad, why do they work almost in every computer?
and then there is this noise, if I buy another computer I have additional noise, or I pay my ass off for real passive components, this is sick...why is there no external scope multi dsp or one super dsp platform, with an usb, or if you want directly a monitor cable and mouse and keyboard inputs...ohhhh...I could run digitally quite some channels into it, mix, route, flex it!!
- and all this without latency, and no hazzles with a computer and no slow graphics, perhaps usb would really be the better way to do so...damn, I want that...The sound of the sidechainfunction in the mixer compressors was better than any vst sidechain function I heard to date, and I heard about 7 pieces...

I assure you UAD is not a good example of a compatible and reliable dsp product. Actually its possible it may be the worst. You have to be carefull of wich mother board you buy for uad-1 also, aswell as known problems with certain hosts. UA and Cakewalk have been fighting for many years to get their products compatible. In fact only recently have they claimed things are now working fine but even that is'nt written in stone yet. I'm one of the lucky ones who only experienced minor problems with uad but there are VERY known compatibility issues with it and forums filled with complaints on it (as well as the countless complaints of lack of power).tomylee wrote:hello!

One thing is for sure - there no longer exist a business relationship between InDSP and Soniccore: http://www.indsp.com/index.html The InDsp website is totally redesigned and there is no mentioning of Soniccore whatsoever. In fact, the new InDSP site seems to be a whitepaper on marketing strategy more than anything else.
Just an observation.

All controversies aside, the plugiator is kind of nice, a sort of a multi-klangbox for players. But what a missed opportunity - it's so UGLY it hurts. If it had good design, and a few more knobs, it could be a winner. Like this, it just looks cheap.
Maybe they can make the case in many colors, one could have a green one, orange, yellow... "you know, for the kids!"
i might be wrong, but I think a Noah EX still beats this... Multitimbral. Or a Dave Smith Evolver Desktop (same price range and desktop form, analog+digital oscillators, analog filters that can process audio input, step sequencers, etc.).

it does not only look cheap, it actually is....
but counting the price its much more value than a klangbox...
yet a scope card has much more value for me. I prefer 8 variable monophonic synths at one time instead of 1 polyphonic at once.
But I stand to my opinion that for what it is the plugiator is a great product with nice value for the price.
quite funny name at all.

Ok guys, I just spent a few sec to watch the Namm 2008 video on the matrixsynth blog.
The main informations are the new plug-in available are:
- the FM Magia, a 4op FM synth (see picture attached captured from the video)
- The drums'n'bass ???
The DSP used is mentioned to be more powerfull as the one included on the ASB (so they should be ADSP-260365 at ??? MHz whereas the ASB were ADSP-260265 at 160 MHz from what I remember/guess).
I still agree that multitimbral lack would be an issue for me (I will keep my NOAH ex !!! and Scope boards).
The user-interface, though simple looking contains some clever features ("instant" 2 s access to plug-in&preset, some knobs pre-assigned to main parameters). These could be usefull for live use.
The multiple plug host capability is an enhancement towards what is a limitation with the ASB and the klangboxes.
I still think it would not be enough for sound design (I will keep my BCR 2000 and its templates for my NOAH plug-in, whereas many other will keep their ASB units and their dedicated control surface) .
One enhance feature you would expect to relaunch the ASB/klangboxes range of units would be to able to add them some multitimbbral capabilities even with some sligth polyphony decrease: a 8 part multimbral monophonic MINIMAX would be much more usefull for me than a 12 notes polyphonic one, and any in-between capabilities in the spirit of the NOAH would be welcome.
You would then have a braoden offer of CW technology.

Wouldn't it be fair, honest and respectful from Use-Audio to inform their customers that their 25 plug-ins bundle for 195 Euro WON'T work with SCOPE 5.0 as clearly mentioned on Sonic Core's website:hifiboom wrote:mmh, from what I``ve read on their page the plug-in bundle is a different thing.spacef wrote:congrats, 399 seems quite low indeed especially with 25 plugs (i guess SC gets something out of it... anyway).
the plugiator seems to be a synth box which is able to run 8 different synths on its architecture.
The 25-plug-in pack is for the scope platform.
I aggree that this is a bit strange because it does really compete with soniccores software offerings.
For present reason: We have to point out that some regular SCOPE plug-ins are currently offered by a company from China. These will NOT be compatible with SONIC CORE PLATFORM 5! We are not responsible for this offer and we are checking legal aspects and consequences.
