Please Help? Mobo CPU combos for 3 Pulsar cards.

Post by Drumz »

Hi Good folks!

I have 1x Pulsar II + 2x Pulsar I cards and a NOAH EX,

and work on a dual 2.7 G5 running logic as well as cubase..

I need advice on what is the best for the cards that i have in building a DAW, :-?

I havent built a CW box for a few years and in fact am getting back into the fold.

my needs are for it to be as fast and economical as it can be as i want to use it mainly for music but also for graphics too. I hope that you guys can give me various mobo and cpu and graphics combinations that has worked for you. I am still deciding how much i will spend on it so price should be a consideration and future proofing would be appreciated. I have looked at various posts by GaryB and others but am bewildered by choice... When i built my original box i only had the pulsar II, ive bought two more pulsar cheaply so i would like it to run as stable as possible. Any reccomendations is appreciated and thanks in Advance

Duke

Agreed.

The X38's are for enhanced gamimg activity at best.

Us audio guys should be thankful to them, as they drive the market somewhat in our direction.

They are all clamouring for the X38's, and we are grateful for the P35's.

The P35's will also be able to run the new bad ass quads that will give audio guys a woody when their apps get better optimised next year.

Buy a QX9650 or better early next summer.

I am starting to see a trend here w/ upgrade pricing and usefull ness after 3 years of fishing. I have learned that Intel combos' are stable as the sunrise in the east.

Our applications are what seem to be behind the curve. That's good,......developers can modify better on mature platforms.

Scope is as mature as they come.
