And it's a bloody amazing machine. It really has a lot of character and with the stepsequencer you can get the most evil and deep analog basslines on the planet. John Bowen was also nice enough to send me his v1.3 straight out of the oven, which is basically the same but with a smaller surface, and wooden end cheeks

And it this price, I think everyone should have one.

Were you tempted by the cut down mono version ? I got the demo of both and enjoyed them, but I wonder how you would actually use the step sequencer ? Do you trigger it by midi clock to your sequencer or go to audio and trim the loop ? Sometimes I find it hard to get the exact loop on these sorts of things.

Well, with the standard pro-one being as cheap as it is, I wasn't really tempted to go for the solo version, I'd rather have some extra voices (even though I can only get about 5 voices on 7DSP)
I haven't really tried the step-seq. with Cubase yet, but I I think you can either sync it to midi clock or internal clock and you can set it to retrigger with note-on events. I just really like stepsequencers as a creative tool, they allow you to easily create interesting loops and sometimes unexpected results because you're twisting knobs instead of playing your keyboard.

I was toying with the stepseq. yesterday but had some problems syncing it to cubase. John said CW should probably fix the step-seq. module for this. Otherwise it works fine on it's own. And there was a problem with the arpeggiator, which was place before the channel filter in the midi chain so it messed up as soon as you played a synth on another midi channel over the Pro-one arp. This is now fixed.
Still can't get over the sound of this thing....lots of bass!

I like the Pro1 but LOVE the Prophet, excellent sound out of those DSPs! We had a Sequential SixTrak around in the past, and these (zarg) synths clearly have a 'sequential' flavor to them. I want to get the WineCountry/Zarg Prophet some day.
