16 Channel Mixer
After months of work I'm very happy to announce the long awaited wolf audio design mixer.

(click on the pic to view full size)
This mixer is highly configurable and introduces some features not yet seen on scope.
For example you can trigger a modular via midi notes (!), while it is sitting between some inserts fx.
Even better you can move it around inbetween them .. just with a mouse click.
The mixer building project started to evolve the last years due to the practical need in audio productions.
Therefor the devices are inspired by the needs of day-to-day usage.
For example the mixer user interface has all inserts visible at once, small pre/post master insert VU and RMS meters right on the main surface, colorable channels, etc.
features in a nutshell :
- 16 mono or stereo channel strips (switchable)
- integrated modular shell with separate midi channel for each channel strip (as instrument or effect)
- 6 inserts (5 plus modular shell) with freely (!) selectable order, parallel or serial, mixed mono & stereo plugins
- true stereo pan
- pan with 0 dB (standard),-2.5 dB or -6 dB center damping (retains level, when panned left/right)
- stereo aux sends
- multi midi channel support (includes pitch bend, relative & absolute controler and note messages)
- midi automation resolution up to 0.03 dB (!) for volume & aux send level
- Mackie Control Support (including feedback for the controler surface)
- mute & solo groups
- colorable channel strips (bottom and channel area seperated -> two different colors for one channel)
- integrated control room (4 outs), includes bypassing of master insert section and therefor easy comparing, etc.
- rms and peak level meters on main surface but also as separate surface
- correlation meter
- whole device savable and renamable
- less cable clutter in routing window (at least for me
)
- all important stuff like inserts visable at a glance
- dynamic dsp allocation (i.e. if a channel isn't connected), but also manual
- 32bit integer through the whole signal path
- phase compensated
- preset list sharing between channel strips (separate for midi & audio settings)
- both channels of a stereo fx are feeded, when behind a mono fx
- comprehensive manual
As scope doesn't offer native multi-midi support for a device I had to create my own solution. The advantage of this solution is, that this mixer is MackieControl compatible, disadvantage is that the learn function does not work for multichannel mode (it is still possible to assign controlers via learn, but not for multichannel assignments). You'll find more information about this in the manual.
Additionally to the mixer itself following devices are part of the mixer pack :
- MatrixInsert (the insert matrix as separate device)
- 48 band spectrum analyzer
- dsp-light LowCut
