Since my PC aimed for music is gone to hell (an electric overload), I need an advice to configure a new one based on an AM2 processor. I saw your post about the price drop of this cpu but my real problem is to find a mobo with 4 PCIs (2XLUNAII and 2XTCPOWERCORE). Is there anyone here who knows a true candidate for this purpose?
Or I have to think a solution like a PCI extender (like MAGMA cases....btw they're so expensive....).
Thank you in advance.
Cheers
A motherboard for AM2 with 4 PCIs
Thx for your advice arela; I thought it was a suitable option to run my set of PCI cards.
Btw the price of the AM2 CPU is too good to be true.
Don't you feel it would be useful in a non pro environment? I mean...I don't need a rock solid platform but something able to follow the evolution of the sotware I use (Cubase4 and all the usual suspects).
An AM2 6000+ could be something able to do it (since my previous PC was based on AMD's Athlon64 and I didn't notice no problems at all) imho...btw if you've good reasons to prove me I'm getting the wrong direction I'm ready to evaluate other options (please suggest me then).
Thank you in advance

Yes older AMD worked perfect with Scope cards, but as i recall, there is a pci handling issue with the X2. It's a general pci handling problem.
If it was the architecture of the X2 or the MB's to blame, i don't know.
I use my x2 4200 for most anything, constant running and very stable. Now i use it with a NI AutdioKontrol1 - perfect 2. daw.
If you search this forum, as i remember, there was somebody who got Scope to work with a X2, but most of us failed. This was 1-2 years ago, so the scenario might have changed, but i doubt it.
