Ah, and before I forget:
Please contact Ralf (rb@soniccore.de) if you already own the bx_digital... there are upgrades available for existing bx_SCOPE users.
Ralf can give you all the details as SONICCORE is the exclusive seller for the new bx_SCOPE.
Cheers, Dirk.

Dear, Dirk !

http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=21197

In this thread you wrote that first update would be free. To be exactly there are your words:
Dear all!
At BRAINWORX all updates within a certain product version are free. This means updates from v1.0 to v1.1 etc. We will eventually release those updates to improve certain small things or fix bugs, etc.
Then again if we do NEW versions, add more modes, main features or whatever we would announcte these updates as V2, V3, etc., and they would NOT be free. I guess you can imagine that developing audio tools with unique features (which is what we wíll hopefully go on doing... ) takes a lot of time, brain and money... so we will have to do this, just like any other commercial software company does.
We will find ways of finding good deals though for everybody who has bought a version1 of any BX product just before version 2 was announced. This is ONLY FAIR, and we will guarantee to always be a fair company.
BUT: at this point we have been informed that CREAMWARE has gone out of business again, and we have to stopp any further development of SCOPE software until this scenario is being solved.
We hope that this platform will stay alive somehow, and we are not saying that we are not at all considering new SCOPE plug-ins, but right now we are not able to release or develop further new stuff.
We will let all of you know when things have been worked out!
If anybody is interested in getting newer products (other platforms, etc.) please contact me PERSONALLY at dirk@brainworx-music.de . We will find a way of handling this.
Cheers to all of you, Dirk. / BX
I even saved a message on my mailbox where you write the same, oh, siamese things!

I have V1 with a disable modus knob. As I understood this parameter has been finally fixed and do you want us to pay you 99EUR for just a fixing! ! ! ! ! ????? :x
Let's keep the promises given once upon a time.

i think this says it all. enabling the modus switch probably qualifies as new features. i'd like the update for free myself, so it's not that i'm not on your side, i just suspect you're going to have to pay the developer for the new(ly enabled) feature if you want it. most will probably live without it......

wow wow wow.. I suggest you all calm down a bit... and I´ll explain what the new version is, ok?

The new release is NOT a fixed button, the SCOPE version of the bx was the first bx_digital version we ever released and it was ONLY the M/S mode. Always. Never intended to be anything else...
Our web-shop says that very explicit until today, and we would not charge anybody for a new version of THIS device, of course, in case there would have been any bugs to fix or so. Fortunately we have never received ONE bug report, so as best as we know the bx_SCOPE M/S mode works perfect....
The MODUS KNOB of the old version was never intended to be "moved" and we explained that several times. It was there to match the look of the hardware.

What you are getting now with our new release is 3(!) devices instead of one device. The 2 new modes are actually 2 new SCOPE devices, they appear individually in your plug-in list, they have to be loaded separately - and they are all different in features -
The M/S REC mode is very similar to the old mode, including inserts, etc., but you should "feed" the bx with M/S signals, eg. when recording M/S mics...
The L/R /Dual Mono) mode can be used to eq two separate mono-signals or to eq a stereo signal differently on both channels, and it can be linked (on all bands or on individual bands) to work on stereo signals phase-coherrent.
It has no inserts because there is nothing to be inserted in a L/R EQ anyway...

--> We have decided to give the UPDATE for FREE to the few SCOPE users who have bought the bx_SCOPE at the original price of 590,- EUR at that time.
After that CREAMWARE has lowered the price several times down to 222,- EUR (if I am not mistaken), and the reason was that we released new bx versions on VST / RTAS and TDM that had all the 3 modes for a comparable price. The VST / RTAS and TDM are still high-price plug-ins, and we intend to keep that as is.

This means all users who have bought the bx_SCOPE at discount rates will have to pay the 99,- EUR update fee (which is a fair price in our minds...) to receive 2 new modes - not just a fix...

I am sure that there will be SOME people among you who will NOT like what I just explained to you, but since we honestly feel that this is a fair solution I will not comment at all on any posts that might be appearing here to complain about this update.

--> If you want to know how the new modes work: go to www.brainworx-music.de , visit our download area and try the VST version... it´s free and it will work unlimited for 14 days...

Best wishes from Germany, Dirk / BX.

Just as an observer, I don't read anything that sounds like a threat....not sure what you mean, herpay.

perhaps "treat"?

As an owner of a "cheap" bx_digital, I think this offer is fair...
I never expected to get any other mode...
But I just wanted that cool M/S EQ!
Perhaps Brainworx should call this new plugin V2?
So, I'm a happy bx_digital user and have nothing to complain...
Cheers,
Jan

I've nothing to do with Brainworx, but I can assure you that you are missing every inch of the overall message and tone.
(and I know you meant treat instead of threat)

and hello again, Dirk!

Is the modus knob working in a released version?
It's really sad, that in VST version is available and Scope has just a due to a similar to hardware "looks like".

About the high price for VST one - the first version has been cracked on 3rd day after release. I think there is gonna be the same and a crowd of warez users will appear. Though it's not a synth that hearable in a material, this is just fx that stays hidden from copyrights.

I'm ready to buy the update, but I really want to be able to turn all the knobs you've drown.

CW is higher in quality than VST for thousand per cents and I don't want to switch it to vst to have a working version

I must have missed this device.

I have seen it in the threads but figured it was a mastering convenience.

Anyone got a link 4 me to read up on this, not the developers site but rather a thread here on it's success while mastering.

I remember the SPL Transient Designer in hardware was the talk of the town back in the day.

This sounds like something for me to read up on.

Thanks 4 It's Development Dirk,
