COS and VOID / sounds, pictures, and some more details
Hello Pulsarians,
John Amolov made some pretty soundexamples for COS and VOID. I know, this was posted already, but in the middle of any thread. I will be sure, that this information will reach you, because a lot of people asked me for soundexamples - now, here we go !
Regarding the sounds and pictures of COS and VOID please check out the links below.

From John :
"I see that summer makes you think more of Greece's beaches than it's synthesizers!
Don't blame you cause here everyday we are braking a new record of high temperatures . 43-46 C. Really hot!
Well let me give some esoteric details about the synths (also please check the sound examples):
first of all VOID matrix. It is trully flexible. It can let you for example modulate a single parameter (like filter) with all available modulators (11) with different amounts. It doesn't "occupy" the destinations. It is a flexible multi mix with dynamic DSP loading. It allows any 18 parralel modulations. Also you can modulate lfo1 rate with lfo2 and then lfo 2 with lfo 1 and these kind of feedback modulations without any restriction about available source and dest. (trust me it's not something you can "patch" easily in modular! Not even hard-ily).
COS morph function: It is really fabulus. That is the most advanced function to have exact control in timbre creation. I think every synth from now on should have that function.
COS modulation: If someone know the "original" he must have spotted that the modulators can only modulate a maximum of 2 destinations in parralel. And with one amount for both. That don't implies to COS. Each modulator source (2 lfo's and the AD env) can modulate 9 destinations in parralel with different amounts which are "morphable".
Filters: Their is a great variety of filters in both synths. In VOID flexor shapers and overdrive modules allow for a wide range of filter shaping.
In COS there are also some new distortion shapers (new atoms) that further enrich the timbre creation.
There is a lot work behind these synths and a big synth programming experience. "

keys received this very morning ! Thanks Ralf for your fast answer... I really appreciate your presets John that shows immediatly the range of sounds that can be created ; also a good starting point for me ... I also really appreciate the knobs with the red lights of the COS which is very confortable ... As an information (I have 21 dsp), the COS uses 3 yellow sticks (dsp load) whereas Minimax needs 2, so just a little more dsp use.
I will try these toys this week-end !

how many dsp for 6-8 notes poly
wondering if you can get an 8 note poly on this one, as flexor is a little difficult to get hight poly for oby type patches, ...i heard the old Polymoog had a way to get alot of poly by the way the osc was postioned (not excactly sure)

wired - polymoogs used 'paraphonic' divide-down oscillator technology, similar to that used in string ensemble synths like the ARP Omni/solina etc.

I believe this type of osc trick is used in Creamware B4000 (hammond emu).
It's not really suitable for a proper synthesis voice architecture.

I 'd like to announce you that there is a small modification on VOID's surface. That was so to avoid any conflict with Access cause i have used some elements from their interface on the first release. It's changed now and i find it cute also. (Sorry i don't know how to upload the pic so to check it here on Z..)
The new device and manuals are going to be replaced in about 2-3 days.
Also there are going to be demo devices soon so to actually check the synthesizers and sounds provided.
Cheers,
John
