Post by Wired »

i think there is more to it, namely , after the 97mb install you have to do all the patches etc...from adern, instructions not perfectly clr,

I think you are missing the patch pack with 150 patches :)
go to the download section and start downloading
big files but worth the wait.

and it cones in chunks so you can start playing while you are downloading ;)

wow!

its a whole different sound, very clean, , quite a feat as your relying on good programming ,not just good ADC and hardware circuitry, ...dsp hungry , but beatiful pads, (i need one where i can have 6-8note poly), ...congradulations, worth every penny for upgrade, ...everything in scope sounds sonically sort of the same, but your flexor synths sound like a dsp ugrade!,

Only a suggestion for the manual, if U have planned a HTML manual like Flexor 1.5 (with useful animated gif and hyperlinks), it could be interesting also a downloadable and printable version in PDF format (A4 vertical or horizontal).
Thanks in advance.

:D
Html & PDF versions are both in production. Possibly one other format as well but I can't comment on that atm.

Massive pad in Flexor

Post by Wired »

if you want a fat patch in Flexor 3 , try the patch massive, ...its also very moody and i get 6note poly on that one, i still don't understand how to get more poly, ...l know you have to poly some of the modules , but which ones (there are so many)...this patch is approaching pleasure patches that inspire, its fat and analogy, even scope4live should like this one. i think someone should create the most realistic highest poly possible for moody analog bank of patches, , ..i would pay for it!

highest possible poly depends on your system.

Yep, the poly limitation is the only "limitation" of Flexor
In some (lush) pad patches I really wish more voices, but actually I can resolve, in some cases, this "problem" with the multilayer sampling. If U don't need a realtime filter tweaking...

Howewer this is a "modern rant" because all the others modular systems are at 99% monophonic!!! :P
So ModIII+FlexorIII are unbeatable! 8)
4PC + Scope 5.0 + no more Xite + 2xScope Pro + 6xPulsarII + 2xLunaII + SDK + a lot of devices (Flexor III & Solaris 4.1 etc.) + Plugiator.

ok this might be a bit silly, but there is a possible workaround...

open the patch you want tweak it like you want it, save it, and open the same patch again. set them both to the max poly, and have a midi spliting module in your sfp project loaded... send high notes to one of the patches and low to the other... you can futher duplicate and split as much as your dsp allows.

jep,

but I have to say some things have improved hugely with Flexor 3.

For example Wavedraw 1 in Flexor 1 was monophonic. Wavedraw 2 and Waveshaper now have poly of 16 and are more complex and sound perfectly and seem to take less power.

Its always a compromise:

- real modulars are mostly monophonic or they ll cost you some bucks.

- VST modulars may be able to be more polyphonic. But they won`t be that flexible like the CW one and may not sound that good.

- CW modular with Flexor pack is ultra comfortable, ultra flexible, has a very good sound and okay, with few filterws you are limited a bit in polyphony.
I think its a good compromise at all. It somewhere in between.

You can`t have everything.
I am completly happy with the stuff. :D

What I am still thinking about is buying a real analog filter and trying to bind it perfectly into a CW mod patch...
just when you need the fattest basses and that stuff.. :)

PS: and keep in mind there is always the trick to put the filter behind the poly out mod module. to get a much higher polyphony and save ressources.

what I really would like to see CW doing:
is build an überfilter for modular with their analog modelling capture technology, not something like interpole with lfo and that stuff...

just a perfect recreation of the resonance and cutoff + some mod inputs and maybe some flavours like arp, moog, roland and maybe more to choose from.

I would pay 200 for such a filter.

If you have John Bowen's Red Dwarf collection, you can load the Pro-One filter into the Modular...I've done that sometimes, and it works and sounds great. (You'll need JB's Red Dwarf2Modular module).

I will of course be using 2 instances in many cases as Faxinadu explained. This works when 6 voices are being triggered simultanoeusly, the 7th, and 8th voice are needed to avoid the re triggering of the envelopes in most patches.

When I get back from vacation I am sure many here will have some great patches made. This will be a great summer for sure.

ProWave, and Solaris Modular w/ Flexor III,.....Just the thought of it gives me a woody.
