at the moment i have my pulsar2 in sx3 as slave machine.
in my mastercomputer with Cubase SX3 i use the spdif connection from my motu 828mkII to sync my pulsar as slave. with the adat connection added i have 4 stereochannels from scope available in my masterprogram and can also process material from the masterprogram in scope and send it back. its like using the scope synths and fx as if they are external instruments. GREAT!
the setup is working and in sync. just have to remind myself to give command from the masterprogram and not from scope. otherwise it loses its sync.
now i am wondering if its possible to use a mono analog out from my motu, feeded in a mono analog in pulsar as the clock-signal. that way i dont waste my spdif stereo for the clocksignalfunction and i have one extra stereo. that way it makes sense to me to use the scope mixer for final remixing. 5 stereo-groupchannels send to scope might just be enough. with 4 i think i forget this and just use the cubase mixer.
so: can i use an analog signal to sync from cubase to cubase?
dont know but maybe its more a sx-question then a scope question.
you can do that for say, smpte or other similar sequencer time/"tape" sync, but not for "digital sync". digital sync is so that each sample arrives in order(they're sent in packets), for that it'll have to be via adat or sp/dif...
btw, would it be posssible if I buy a filterbox, that has lets say has more ins and outs for envelopes and filter, and so on....
Would it work if I take the poly out empty modular and build a hybrid synth that uses parts of the cW modular and others like the filter and lfo form the filterbox?
