p5vdx2-x intel p4 3.00 ghz scope.45 scope-driver not there

Post by vipal »

hi,

i installed my pulsar2, 6 dsp on my new computer.

when i put in the card in my computer, windows xp sp2 sees the new hardware. the hardware wizard comes, so i choose from a list the driver, Win2k from the scope 4.5 install file. then windows accepts it and i can see in devicemanager Creamware Pulsar2 onder controllers for sounds and videogames. the properties of pulsar2 says: ok this devive is working correct. although it says its on PCI-bus4 while its fysical on bus 3.

then when i open scope do my routing and then open Cubase sx3 i cannot see in device setup the scope asio driver. so not working.

computer info:
asus P5VD2-X , intelP4 3.000 GHz

please help!

dont know if this is relevant but in bios i tried to disable acpi multi but i cannot change this setting with this motherboard.

any idea how to find out if my pulsar2 has a hardware break?

further information: last weel pulsar was rinning for some hours. though it was not straight when i used a sampler (guru). minimax was working well for example. at that time i had not installed the motherboard-drivers and vga-drivers from the asus install cd's.

please please help. i am really desparate. its already a long period i am trying to get my scope working.

maybe some more relevant info:

desperate to find a solution, i put the card in pci lock 2 (the second from above, just under the firewire one). in windows it says also now that its on PCI-bus4.

now when opening scope software its says: cannot start scope platform, cannot gain acces to scope hardware, timeout waiting for acknowledge dsp0.

i cannot use PCI-lock4 because when i put the card there i am pushing against some small electronics and the card does not get in properly.

any advices: do i have to disable hypertreading in bios?

please help. and thanks in advance.

installing win xp?

do you mean that if i want to try if the card is working on PCI lock2 after i tried this on lock3 i first have to reinstall windows and everything?

i installed several times xp again.
with every try that did not succeed i started from scratch. this did not help.

is there a way to find out if the card is not broken?

Don't reinstall windows. Are you sure you have Hyperthreading on that cpu? Or is it a dual core? If it is indeed Hyperthreading it might be a good idea to disable it to avoid future crashes, but it isn't the cause of your problem. It might be worthwhile to disable unused devices in the BIOS while you're in there (extra USB/serial/parallel ports, 3rd party RAID chips etc).

The first slot you installed your card into, if Scope ran (which you say it did) then I would use that slot. The issue with ASIO drivers is solved another way, so put your card back into the slot it was originally in, and see if Scope runs again.

Once Scope is running again we can work on the ASIO driver issue...

according to the manual, all slots do share with something. you maybe don't need that much usb controllers. avoid sharing with onboard audio and lan, or disable them if you don't need them. and, well, I don't know if that VIA board was the best choice...

thanks for the reply.

the computer i specially bought to run the scope-card so i choose single core processor.

i will go into the bios en disable things like you said, i hope its obvious to me what to block, i have mouse and keyboard on usb maybe not a good idea. wil change this to plugged ones.

ok little by little there seems to be movement.

i installed scopedriver 3.1 b (found here on z)

then after installing this in cubase the asiodriver was visble. so i played a little and there was input in the mixer from minimax.

i had to restart because i did not put the plug in the back at that time so i could not hear any sound.

after starting up i can not open the scope program anymore. tried it from the shortcut on my desktop, tried it from the startmenu and tried from programs.

nope. now when i try to uninstall the scope program my computer says:
please close all creamware applications before using the uninstaller.

in windows taskmanager there is no scope program running.
cpu use 0%, not very likely scope is running imo.

please help me with the next step!
