so close for the M3
the more i hear about the m3, the more i want an oasys, ...i find the oasys sounds better (on video at least) and i have tried it for a while in store, maybe its the internal 32bit float, but its combi's sound sonically seperate, probably better converters than m3, ...but somebody said here that its not fair to call it a mini oasys, it has karma 2, all the control sections, just not the linear rom of the oasys, are there some facts i should know before buying m3?, ....the xy controller screen looks cool, along with the drumtrack with a program or combi, (which adds another drum track to whatever your doing)

Soooo, now that i ordered my m3, ..i'm starting to appreciate the quaility of the oasys, namely the linear rom vs compressed, ....the 32bit float, ..it seems to seperate sonically better than the m3 (as per the videos), ....do you think there is something to the oasys the m3 is not?

Don't fret your decision with the M3- I'm sure you'll have a blast with it, and it sounds great.
The M3 and the OASYS are very different machines.
Don't think of the M3 as a mini-OASYS. The M3 uses some of the low-aliasing oscillator technology from the OASYS AL-1, and some of the general voice architecture. But it really is an independent product.
The M3 is a more traditional Korg keyboard - with a hardware chip tone generator. It uses the new generation of TG chip from Korg, and will sound superior to the Tritons. Because the tone generator is in hardware, it is not extensible like the software-based tone generator in the OASYS.
With the OASYS, we are continually developing new synthesis models and improving the existing ones, via system software updates. Hence the "OA" in OASYS for "open architecture".
Of course, the OASYS is far more expensive. But it is indeed one of the best sounding synths on the market, IMHO
Don't judge from a video- if possible, get yourself into a quiet listening environment, and hear for yourself.
Cheers,
-John

thank you , whewwww!
i can wipe the sweat off my brow now, i can get an oasys for 6500 canadian, but that is a little more than double with the m3, but i love the lac in oasys, and i think they come with 128 programs and karma preset ge's, (that analog smokes), ...i'm not sure, but i think the str is as good or better than sixstring. And AL?, not sure if that is an asset?, but i'm starting to reason that the oasys is priced right for its contents, particularily the i/o, they sound quite and high end converts and mic pres (maybe not API quality but at least low end focusrite)

john, is it possible for you to describe the radius exb, i had the hardware and it was'ok', (like my access virus), but ....now that its karmafied with how many programs?, it should be better that it is a 'model' and not just pcm, ..but pls send us m3 'ers a LAC
