I'm practicing my Joe Walsh ( Rocky Mountain Way ), and Peter Frampton licks as we speak.

Thanks Again Ollie, I'm struggling w/ C4 still, but should it by May 1st. My B-Day is on May 6th, another festive day. WJ asked what we would do on my B-Day, she always says what device do you want now Jimmy. 4 the first time in 2 years I said " Broadway Show Horns " by Fable / Sonivox, afterall, I'm in Vegas, so I should have as many flavors of " Gangsta Horns " as possible. This VSTi will do Nelson Riddle arrangements w/ ease. She said cool,..but she ain't seen the price yet. Her new cash cow is smokin', so if she whines, I shall comfort her w/ ......................Start Spreadin' The News,...I'm Leaving Today......I Wanna Be A Part Of It.......New York,..New York.

I must be crazy, playing Joe Walsh, and going to Frank ??

Thanks Ollie,

JV

Since scope4live is practicing Walsh and Frampton, you could loop Jeff Beck :D

I am having phone sex w/ GuruB Friday after the gig. My problems in Cubase 4 are all bussing, and MIDI related. I should have it licked pretty soon. Once I learn the GUI a little better, eveything will be good to go. I won't have any trouble recording w/ Cubase, just the actual setting up, bussing, MIDI, and damn, they sure have a whole bunch of funny lookin' shit.

I just recieved my beta of Gigaviolin, and this is an awesome VSTi. I can do bluegrass, Jean Luc Ponty, Shostakovich, and some serious JoeBob licks also. Fiddle on these talkboxes will be some serious fun as well. Once you get profficient on piano chops, it just seems natural to want to immatate everything you hear, and see. And w/ these tools, who knows what can be achieved.

Best Regards,

Jimmy NoTeeth

That's my temporary nickname. I got buzzed after work and went on the roof w/ some friends to have a spittin' contest, and unfortunately my partials ( fake teeth ) blew out, and we couldn't find them. But WJ overnighted me my spare ones, so maybe the little children in the arcade won't run when I see them again.

Ta-Ta 4 Now.

BTW Olive,
Is Fairlight Europe going to be hosting a booth @ the NAB show in Vegas next week? I would love to see and hear how your Plugs are being used.
I will be demo'ng a new instrument there on the 16th, and would love to see the stuff in action.

It seems as though there is a Fairlight sponsored booth, but i am not sure what it will be showing.

If you find out anything, let me know.

I just got the box working now, WOW !! Good job, I shall now connect an expression pedal to it and start making some noise.

This thing is way cool !! I have attached 5 faders via Mehdi's CC5 MIDI device, and use the expression pedal to act as a mute. i.e. when I want to add the effect, I push the pedal down which goes from dry to wet, and use the CC5 for the selected 5 frequencies ( faders ) that are controlled like B3 drawbars all on 1 x KS88 fader. Welcome to my sick world of 21st century sounds.

This Device Begs 4 Stereo Outs, But I have 2 monos from Solaris, so 1 goes to yours and the other to Celmos, that's my stereo work around. A little expensive, but quite effective. With an LFO modulating my hard panned channels, it's a morphers dream come true.

We Should All Seek Therapy.

I am correct in assuming that the audio dropouts I encounter are from being done on purpose to render this useless until won or purchased ?

I shall do a very short demo I suppose.

Has anyone tried farting into a microphone to see which frequencies respond yet ? Some serious low end I imagine. I'll grab one of my FAT BASTARD friends here back east, feed him some large bowls of Steak & Shake chili and commence further experiments.

Instead of Kareoke on breaks we can let the audience make fools of themselves, causing the liquor sales to increase, an all around good thing I suppose.

hi Jimmy, and all

This is correct, as you noticed, the midi in is not implemented to connect a "master keyboard", only controllers ...

if you wanna use it as a "standard" vocoder, it's possible,
just connect your synth (ie solaris) to the inst input and your vocal mike to Vox / analyse.
But all combinations are possible ...
just keep in mind that Vox / Analyze input is the one that modulate (frequencies) the instrument, so, the most standard setup is a mike to the Vox/analyse and any instrument to the inst ... but not only ...
try and invert ... it's also very amazing ...

you are right, putting a cc on dry wet permits you to active more or less the "voicing" effect on your instrument ...

The 10 faders, control the frequency of the "Vocoded" signal, so you can adjust here the frequency response of the vocoded signal, can be usefull to eliminate redundant frequencies in the vocoded signal or boost some others that sound "good" ...

for sure as you noticed, the plug is fully midiable ...
I am correct in assuming that the audio dropouts I encounter are from being done on purpose to render this useless until won or purchased ?
Right again ... this is the demo mode, the output signal mutes every 30 seconds and during 2 seconds ... for sur the final commercial version will have no dropouts ...

About the demo, you can make it even till 1 minute, even with dropout ... as every one will have the same demo plugs ...
Is Fairlight Europe going to be hosting a booth @ the NAB show in Vegas next week?
sorry don't know now, have to ask them and will tell you ...

Well your talker works really well Ollie. We just got it up and running using a PR40 Gold to mic a kazoo, and a molodica, ala Steve Allen style, Stevie W#onder too. It sounds great and we recorded a couple of takes on his Nuendo rig. Are we still on?
