Well I have 2 pc's:A pentium 3 500 with a pulsar 1 card,a pentium 850 with boath a pulsar 1 and an xtc card.Ilinked them togheter with the adat outs and ins, works great specialy when i use the p 500 as a sampler and synth machine and thep 850 with the pulsar mixer and effects.
the negative side is that i have to make 2 projects, one on each machine.
I can live with that, but sometimes it is a bit confusing.
So I had this crazy idea:A special kind of stdm cable or link-board.So I only have to make one project or make of the 2+1 card behave like one 14 dsp card on 2 pc's with the scope software. YOu get the point? Crazy???

Doubt that will work... why don't you just put them in one single machine?

yes, it's a bit crazy. You got a nearly perfect setup and want make it more complicated. You treat one machine as a recorder/mixer and the other as midi equipped synth/sampler. This couldn't be more straight forward.

Actually I wish it were possible to link two computers together, not just for audio but for everything. It would be the cheapest way to dramatically and significantly improve performance. A newer computer is faster but never doubles the performance unless your computer is 10 years old.

Don't know if it's available yet but Steinberg's VST System Link will be interesting.

I have 2 Pc's, each with Creamware cards. They're connected via ADAT. I use ONE pc for sequencing, the other (dual PIII & most DSP) is my sounds machine and mixer. It's controlled via midi.

I tried to sync for a while, but sync is never tight enough. Now, all those problems are gone... Rebirth and Reason do sync alright, but Cubase doesn't follow the Master Cubase so well.
