Reverse Drum OSC or The Hardstyler ;)

Post by Stompa81 »

Since I sample and Reverse kicks that ive made with Modular 3 and Drum Osc, It would be handy if an oscillator could produce a reverse drum.

Im probably just being too lazy  I would pay good money for a module that did this :D

sample players like Kontakt and probably every sample player can instantly reverse a sample :-)

As far as I know the atoms provided with the SDK or DP don't permit the direct handling of the samples, but only the simple playback of them.
Welcome to the dawning of a new empire

I have given this some more thought and have come up with More detail for the module Im wishing for. may not be possible but hey, it is a wish of course :D

Would it be possible to make a module that will analyze the Incoming Audio signal, Reverse it and output the altered Signal ?

Most of the time I only need a small piece of the reversed sound, so a Start and Finsh value (in milliseconds) would be needed to Specify which piece of the reversed signal I want to hear. It would also need a pre delay so you can adjust the timing of when the altered signal is heard, eg. 20ms after the original signal,

If asking to do this to an audio signal in real-time is too much then here is a more basic Idea
-A pre delay ,section start/finish time(ms) and a reverse button for the Sample Drum OSC would solve most this problem. This way i could load any sample I want reverse and chop it up without leaving modualr :D Mabye there is a way to do this already ????

This would be a very useful tool for Me. The Bass for this genre's i like is usuallly a section of a reversed Big kick(mainly from the same tune), they also use this sometimes on snares and cymbals to give them the bouncy effect.

Cool I will go test Granular see if i can do it thata way :D

Reversing the ADSR wouldnt sound the same as the signal being reversed, however I do use this technique to make a Different kind of bass.

Thanks for your help, Granular looks very promising to do what i want to try and do. :D
