Dither options in Soundforge, need to clarify

what is the best and most recommended dithering mode in soundforge?

i'm having a tough time distinguishing with or without noise shaping, and the various dither algorithm types.

i know some other dither plugs have no options and just one "preset" dither down algo.

so what are the uses for the various ones offered in soundforge?

i have been using triangular dither with no oise shaping simply because a friend recommended it, but he gave no reason as to why.
