VM-1242 .. no longer available
In one month we will have the ultimate Valve mixer. Shroomz's beta's seem to work great, and then he tweaks 'till our hearts desires. This is the sweetest sounding mixer, it totally changes my entire sound in the right direction. My GS3 DAW seems to hold all of the vintage synths and samples. I am dropping the use of a few synths, just to have the B2003, and Solaris drip from this FAT BASTARD.
I Forgot To Thank Sharc In All Of This Excitement, DAMN YA'LL !!!!

Just out of curiousity's sake, what is the record for an SDK downloaded device? I would lay money on Shroomz / Sharc, and MYCCARANO being the top 2. And possibly the Saturn synth, which was done w/ the DP cards.
As much as I want to comment on this awesome sounding device, which is far better than the sound of just the plugs, or the VP-8. It is a beta, and I know Shroomz will modify this as time goes by, so I shall leave him in peace, and await the finishing touches.

Thanks for all the feedback so far on this device. It's all appreciated very much. Sharc & I discuss all of your suggestions in detail on a regular basis. Many of the things you guys have suggested we were planning to do, so they will be added, simple as that!! To clarify that, here is the 'to do' list as it stands:-
1. Add stereo links allowing channel pairing.
2. Add on/off dsp switches to EQ sections.
3. Add second metering page to the meter section.
4. Add editable value fields beneath all faders displaying decibel values. (nobody suggested this, but I'll add it anyway)
5. Add channel naming facility as suggested by Wayne below.
6. I'd like to add a better solo matrix, but don't fully understand how to yet, so I'll need to experiment further.
7. sharc noticed on his formac monitor that the gui graphics don't look anywhere near good enough, so they'll be updated.
8. We'll make a smaller version @ 800 px wide, but only at a later stage (next week) after the above features are all or mostly all implemented.
Feel free to make further comments or suggestions & in the case of good suggestions I'll add them to the above to do list.
cheers everyone :)

damn, too lateShroomz wrote: 4. Add editable value fields beneath all faders displaying decibel values. (nobody suggested this, but I'll add it anyway)

and although I like the analog style meters I'd prefer led-style most of the time. I don't know if what you call the second metering page includes switching the metering style, but maybe you consider that.
I can't try the mixer right now cause everything is wrapped and packed already. so if the pan pot is not yet to be centered with an easy move I'd like to have that (maybe with an editable value field as mentioned above).
hope to try it out soon.

I'm sorry, but my karma just ran over your dogma.

Wayne, yes we'll make space for a channel labeling facility somehow, good one I'll add it to the to do list!!
Kylie, yes the new meter page will have led-style meters which I plan to be double the resolution of those on the stm mixers. (maybe 40 leds instead of just 20)
The pan pots as with all the pots on the surface return to center when double-clicked which is also useful for the bipolar eq gain parameters. If I was gonna add any more than the channel level db value fields it would probably be value fields for mid eq freq', but space is tight height-wise so we'll see.
Gonna post a slightly more detailed list of specifications including eq ranges etc, as I was a bit lazy with that.

of course. looking forward to see it running on 1152x864... but space is tight height-wise so we'll see.

I dug my Oberheims out of their coffins to run through here and they were like puppies taken out of their display cage. Sounds so fuckin' FAT.
I really enjoy the way we are helping w/ ideas, and the way that the Brotha's from Britain are responding. This is a month that will go down in infamy.
I experienced something I have heard no one else comment on yet. When I load up effects, the sends are not silent when the knobs are fully rotated left and I have no control on their amounts. I shall keep trying different inserts and experimenting w/ the real analog hardware synths, as I have never heard my Oberheims w/ SpaceF's delays. They truly R 2 die 4.
I Was Punishing Many B4 This, Now They Will Be Unmercifully Beaten,

So we have to wait untill next week for no 88. We'll make a smaller version @ 800 px wide, but only at a later stage (next week) after the above features are all or mostly all implemented.

You are really working fast and significant - keep up
....as i'm getting behind scheme with testing
.........only looked at the picture yet
Thanks Arela :)
Scope4live,
If you can give me a more detailed description of the problem you're having including what's connected to the sends & what you're inserting, I'll try to reproduce your problem.
If what you're after is level controls for the inserts, it's a very very simple thing to implement, but I won't be implementing it on this device.
Thanks for your feedback, support & abundance of gear photos.
Scope4live,
I guess you're saying that the sends paths aren't silent when you load insert effects, but I can't reproduce that problem. There is absolutely zero signal passing out of the sends when the send level pots are turned down (fully left) no matter whether an insert is in use or not.scope4live wrote:I experienced something I have heard no one else comment on yet. I could take those bonus points quite easily Valisvalis wrote:I'd like this as well, both for dsp saving and just to eliminate unnecessary circuitry when it's not needed. Bonus points for doing the hi/lo shelves & mid bands independantly switchable.

What I've done tonight is add 2 on/off dsp switches which don't require the addition of more circuitry to compensate. One switch releases the WHOLE device from dsp which could be handy. The second switch releases ALL of the aux sends & returns from dsp which frees almost 2 whole dsps without breaking the main channel signal paths. Works great!!
