We all exixting (registred) users can make a "group buy" for the Creamware Brand.
Just like a sort of cooperative company.
The only problem could be the final selling price of CW!!! :o

Obvoiusly I really hope that CW don't quit... 8)
4PC + Scope 5.0 + no more Xite + 2xScope Pro + 6xPulsarII + 2xLunaII + SDK + a lot of devices (Flexor III & Solaris 4.1 etc.) + Plugiator.

:D John, you're a tolerant man. This "fact free" never ending debate over Creamware's future..... sheesh ..... I even put my false teeth in backwards. Gave myself a tonsilectomy.

If Creamware dies tomorrow, I still win. When Creamware jumps into the future, I still win. Either way we are all winners. If PlanetZ dies tomorrow,..............Then we all lose.

Dynamo hum, dynamo hum, where's this dynamo coming from?

Post by Liquid Len »

Yes, exactly. I hope Creamware stays around - I'd love to surf to their website someday and see 'Our latest product - a Fender Rhodes emulation' - but the platform as is, works just fine for me. As long as I can find old Pentium 4 boxes (I mean, you can still find P2s if you look for them), I can use their products, which we all know are in a class of their own. It works now - it doesn't need fixing. Newer extensions (like the much-anticipated Flexor 2) would be nice - but face it, if you can't make music from what ALREADY exists for this platform, the creamware approach is not for you.

Nothing for anyone to get worked up about. Our speculation here doesn't really affect Creamware's financial problems.

someone seems to be alive.... they updated the homepage with following....
Registration, Plugin Activation, Allkeys Files, MyPage area.

During the past the number of invalid registrations by automated registration robots has reached a volume, which caused a heavy overload and continous crashes of our registration server. Therefore we had to disable the internet access so the MyPage area functions are out of order actually.

For Registration, changes in address, activation of plugins or receipt of allkeys files please contact our Technical Support via E-Mail to info@creamware.com.

For initial registration as a new customer please provide first and last name, home address, hardware serial number and your e-mail address.

I am putting together an old P4 DAW 4 my son, he wants to be a Pulsarian. 2 x Lunas, w/ a 6 DSP SRB. A better start than I had. I hope you guys will put up w/ him as he is only 11 years old. But much more mature than his father, who suffers from immaturity. I just love my uncomplicated P4 DAW w. GS3. It runs like a cappucino machine.

He wants to compose his own synth grooves and rap-sing over the top. Everyone his age loves music, and I think that's great. When I was a kid his age, RU Experienced by Hendrix was out and we were all copping those licks. I think it's great that kids want to be original, and not copy. But I am glad he wants to become involved, and maybe he can teach me next year how to use Flexor III when Adern upgrades again with the new PCI-e DSP cards.....Oooops, excuse me, I was dreaming again, but it was so real.

It's rather strange that the general response to CW filing for creditor protection for the second time is merely, "Oh, it's a minor issue." It certainly isn't a minor issue. It's a sign of a major problem: Their cash flow is not sufficient to meet their obligations.

Barring a miracle, the writing's on the wall:

1. Their Scope lineup is not compatible with Windows Vista. This will quickly become a critical issue now that most vendors have started shipping hardware with the new OS - a hardware company that doesn't support Microsoft's latest incarnation will be dead in the water (please don't bother flaming me: I'm no MS fan either, but someone has to stand up and state the bloody obvious).

2. Their new hardware line is about a decade too late. The world has by and large switched to computer-based systems. The key marketing problem they face is that very few users will purchase more than one ASB unit - each new unit will be met by diminishing sales, because only a very few wealthy (or obsessed) Creamware fans will pony up for a Minimax, Pro-12, Prodyssey, and a B4000. Most likely, people will pick and choose a single unit.

3. There are no new Scope cards on the horizon, and I suspect that the vast majority of sales have been ASB boxes since the company resumed operation in 2004. This puts loyal Scope/Pulsarians in a funny spot -- I have a 3 card setup and don't need an ASB, so the only purchase I've made from Creamware in the past few years has been a software upgrade. I suspect many are in the same boat.

Now, rather than burying our collective heads in the sand, I think it would be smart to contact Creamware to make arrangements to ensure that a third-party is entrusted with the ability to transfer ownership of product keys. In fact, it would be smart to come to an agreement that the software will be released into the public domain should the company cease operations permanently. If we fail to take these steps, we may well get badly burnt.

as long people like you, gary (those who claim to know), continue to keep their mouth shut, you won't hear anything more positive than that. there's truth in many points that reflex wrote, based on what the majority of us knows. I would maybe a good successor to apostle Thomas (the non-believing :) ), but I somehow refuse to believe in a radical change of the situation unless there is clear proof (what the rumours you spread are certainly not). nevertheless I still have hope, otherwise I would have sold my stuff already instead of ramping it up.

yeah, garyb, prove us wrong and make our day :)

I refuse, btw, also to believe that they're dead unless there is proof. and as long as there is a website up, there must be somebody to pay that bill.

and you can still get keys.
if i could know and tell you all about it, i would. nothing can be said right now, everything you hear and think about it is conjecture. you won't get better for the moment, sorry. i'm not saying that there's no chance of disaster, just that disaster is not a forgone conclusion, and far from it at the moment.
