Or any ideas

I mix most of my homemade stuff for surround inside Cubase.
My SFP routing looks like this:
Cubase ASIO 1-6 > STM16S and Celmo Ultimatizer > ASIO dest and speakers.
STM16S panned permanently Left front for asio1 etc.
Then i record all 6 ch back to Cubase.

Before encoding i need to edit those files
(level at least)

Now i have bought VDAT and would like to record to it  of course.

The routing i would like, is somthing like this:
Cubase asio1L > 6chMonoMixer ch1 > vdat ch1
Cubase asio1R > 6chMonoMixer ch2 > vdat ch2
.
.
Cubase asio3R > 6chMonoMixer ch6 > vdat ch6

If possible, mono inserts would be welcome if its simple to do, and meters. And midi, and....not much more.

I have seen a lot of different mixers, but not any perfect.

Is there something like this, or is anybody willing to take the challenge of building it.

Hi Arela,

I don't know if ths idea will help or not as it's a slight workaround, but it will definately give you almost everything you need. If you load 6 individual channel strips (called 'channel' in the SFP 'mixer' pulldown in the routing window) then set each channel to mono (just de-highlight the 'stereo' button) you will then have six individual channels each with mono inputs & mono inserts. The only problem is that individual prests would need saved for each channel.

hi Shroomz
I did try 6 channel strips and 3 mixromixers.
It works great, but i cant use my controller.
Absolutely best is Celmo's 5.1 Ultimatizer, it just lack independent volume controllers.

Sometimes i dont want center and lfe channel - and for adjusting the soundscape.
If this was easy done in cubase, i would be happy.

By the way, inserts are not necessary
Just want individual levelcontroll before DEST.
Hardwarewise, this is my dream:

Thanks Wolf, you gave me a bright idea!
I did connect midi through the chain of mixers, and that did not work.
But when i connectet them parallelle, it seems to work well.

Why so?
Anyway, i just got what i wanted

yes it does, but what is MOUT meant to do?

i think i found a SpaceF mixer that do - sf-3kmix.
I will first try out the project i'm building now.
It is 6 channels from Cubase via 3 "Parallell Effect" racks via 3 stereo channels to VDAT (when i get the key-file!)
- and parallel to 3 more stereochannels to the speakers.

Not shure about the stereo effect rack (par. eff.) but ill give it a try.

well, I know what you mean, but look at it from a hardware midi point of view, where connecting more than say 2 or 3 devices in series using midi 'thru' ports is ill-advised. I treat Scope similarly & try to normally give each device a parallel connection rather than chaining too many in series. Obviously there could be several exceptions to this though.

I would love to see something like this.
Don't even think it's nessessery to be able to unlink front and rear chanels.

Inserts are not a must, i just had some free space :-)
(but it's a + if it's done without much inconvenience)

Think it might be better to ask for this device as a monitor controller.

What i want:
IN:
6 mono, 3 stereo or 2 stereo and 2 mono
all with mute button and volume

Optional - master volum
Out:
same as in

Forget insert slots and link buttons

The A Design ATTY2'D is what i want as a scope device,
please :-)

hi olive
You're right, your Surround 5.1 Output
is what i was seeking.
In that way the topic was a little bit wrong

As it looks like Celmo would'ot upgrade his 5+1 Outputizer with midi controll, this device seems to fit my needs and demandings :-)

Tell me more olive!

hi arela,

these devices are very old and on the way to be optimised ...

will be sold as a bundle, in fact the most important of them is the Bass management, you will absolutely need one if you plan to work 5.1 ...

cheers

I'm using a combination of the Lfe management within the Cubase mixer , Nuendo Surround edition Lfe Splitter and Celmo Outputizer.

The Celmo Outputizer would have been the perfect tool for me if it have had midi controll

I found mixing in Cubase, to 5.1 output is the method giving me the most controll over the mix (automation is a blessing)

Of course i will look for you bundle, it might be verry usefull, both the bass management and certanly the monitor controller.

Looking forward :)
cheers from a lot of snow, at last ....Are

Hi Are,

I've made a clone of the ATTY2'D that you requested. (Well it 'looks' different)

Image

You'll find it here >>> http://www.planetz.com/phpBB2/viewtopic ... 645#167645

hope it fits the bill.

Thanks a lot
I think the bill fits verry well, even better than the atty itself :-)
Atty is a $500 device.
You deserve a hug, hope you'll find one

This is a $500 device as well. It will self destruct if you don't send me $500 within 28 days. Read the small print
