that's right, in fact the second time of a situation of insolvency could be that...Shroomz wrote: OSX support is not the end of Scope

Well, CW are most likely going to survive this in one form or another, so we're probably (or hopefully) safe, but the main concern shouldn't be about developement of drivers for OSs which change 3 times a year, it should be about the system security, registration, all the issues involved in that (and these are serious issues!)
If CW did actually just cease to exist, how would you transfer a plug, a board, a warrenty etc??

of course, I know, I was just summing a few things that illustrated some consequences of the situation of insolvency at that time
(You can't ignore OSX BTW if you're seriously operating on the market tho, but that's a different story).
Where does your optimism come from BTW?
I just see darkness here, not only because of Christmas eve...
Imagine a life without futurist DAS plugins, to name just one bugbear...

Maybe we will be dependent on MCCYRANO till the end of time for new plugs...not too bad btw

This hurts deeply.

There are only two reasons possible for that:
0. SFP as PCI - card does not sell well anyway.
1. People still don't buy plugs from the shop even when prices drop to 50%.
2. ASB & Klangbox don't sell as well as it's needed for paying back the money.
A third reason could be a secret project which wasn't successfull fast enough...
The situation now just means, that someone will try to get money out of CW. This means trying to sell to another company or trying to get that Klangbox thing kicking. As far as I know it's only the first step what happens now and it's up to the boss of that procedure to get the money which is needed & if he's successfull buisness continues as usual.
Wouldn't it work to make some really nice advertisement and kicking out those boxes for even more cheap prices? I think it's way too early to expect some sideeffect on SFP from that klangboxes. There need to be sold many many of them to make many people want to buy SFP because the sound convinced them.

Part of the problem for Creamware is that native solutions have caught up and the sound quality can be almost as good. 4 years ago, CW stuff was far, far better, now the improvement seems less and as CPUs get more and more powerful I think the writings on the wall - the only hope is if another company can buy Creamware and if all the software algorithms (and development environment) can be converted to run on native CPUs witn perhaps a dongle-type device to protect the software (Syncrosoft device seems to be the most successful).

if I were rich I would buy the company because I think (contrarily to what seems, on the bases of the recent insolvency facts) that the Scope system has a great potential.
The next step would be that to unite the firm with a mayor (i.e. yamaha, roland, behringer, etc.) and start to develope a new and more concrete marketing/advertising.
Then I would start with the development of new pci-e cards or Firewire (or better, external Serial Ata), more chips and more power and a new OS that improved the compatibility with Windows XP/Vista and OSX (something like UAD or PoCo).
I would to start an exclusive joint venture with i.e. Steinberg (that is german too) for a advanced version of Nuendo/CubaseSX with the handling of Scope cards (something like Constellation system).
Then a new group of software developer for new synths & EFX (even if Solaris and oters already existent things could be enough IMO...)
In this way I think that Protools could have a big (and powerful) competitor!!!
Don't forget the possibility to obtain the SDK as serious competitor to Reaktor.
Yeah, I know that in words seems all easy, but is clear that if CW don't go in joint ventures/fusions, the life could be short...

Cheers (i really hope that this bad new is a "false positive" indiscretion...)
Go CW, we are all with you!!!

4PC + Scope 5.0 + no more Xite + 2xScope Pro + 6xPulsarII + 2xLunaII + SDK + a lot of devices (Flexor III & Solaris 4.1 etc.) + Plugiator.

Unsuccessful business! pz is the biggest commodity of cw and does they ever come to here telling “What do you need” or take any vote? Or what we’re looking for?? We have 3100 user!!MCCYRANO wrote:This hurts deeply.![]()

Looks like I should add something...First, I want to deeply apologise to Frank, Wolf, and the whole CW company, and this community. I have done some stupid things in the past, and I can only say, I did it again, and truly regret starting this topic.
Now, I don't have any 'inside information', or whatever, but reading through some of the other postings here makes me think that everything will come out all right. The ways of German business are a complete mystery to me, but I have a feeling CW will continue on better than before, to produce some awesome new products for the coming year(s)!
I would really prefer it now if John Cooper could remove this Topic, or at least, no one continues to post on it. I really feel things will be OK for CW - please don't give up hope!
regards,
john b.
