Scope video demo

hi to all.
Since i have a brand new photocamera which can also record movies, i tried to make a short video to show the possiblities of scope fusion package.
It is my first try, and i had several idea, but of course SFP is so complex, and you can do so many different things that it's difficult to show all!
So i decided to focus on the routing possibilities of the platform.
Thus, the video will not showcase the audio quality of the plugins or of the mixer, because it would be impossible or very difficult, and much more time should be invested in the project.
i just prepared a little song in sonar and i explained how you can route the signal inside and outside scope, so that you can play SFP synths, VST FX, external hardware with realtime VST effects, scope effects, external hardware effects...

sorry for my poor english, but it was the first time that i was making such a video... i had nothing written, just some ideas in mind, and i had to think to a lot of things while recording... handle the camera, what to say, how to say it, pay attention to the english, handle the SFP and sonar...

i hope that the result was interesting, and if you have other ideas to tell me, maybe next month i can record some other video...

The concept is very nice, if you can do a little montage I'd suggest:

Find a stable location for the camera to give a better view of the screen, you will perform all the operations you will have written down before.
You can insert the other units takes afterwards, where they are needed, It will be less dynamic than hand-camera, but you'll have a much better main scene (screen).
You can add vocal description afterwards, to make it more essential and correct.

Anyway, I liked it.

It´s not crap, it´s a nice idea and affort.
Who knows, maybe this vid will wake up interests for our scope cards.

Have you ever tried one of those screen recorder programs, to record a vid of what happens on your screen?
I would prefer this methode instead using a cam without a tripod.

Anyway, it´s an interesting vid, thank you.

I really like this idea, I do agree that a screen capture for the scope parts would be good but that aside I think you would only have to look at the questions people ask on this site to get ideas for future video's. I wouldn't mind seeing side chaining, I can be told what it is and how it works but I get things way better if I can see how someone does it. Good Stuff.

the youtube video is working, maybe you tried it just after i posted the message and it was not yet activated!

regarding screen caputre program... you are right, but this would require a lot of effort in doing some post-processing video editing...
i maybe will think about it...

if you want, share the video on other forums!

is the V-Amp good? i`ve heard good things about it...

would love to hear some mp3 of your 303 emulation processed with different V-Amp presets....

Thanks for your efforts bosone. I liked the vid but I thought a few times how nice it would be to actually see the routing page in detail, the I/O, drop down menus, live bar. Really show of the scope environment.

i may think about doing the video in a better way, but only if i am given some more ideas to what to show!!

the vamp is rather good (i had a pod 2.0 some years ago and it was good. the vamp is slightly better according to...). but i think that dynatube, if well used, can be even better (i'm still tring to find the "perfect sound" for the upcoming album of my hardcore-rock-punk band!!!

Bosone, if your intent was to get non-Scope people to get interested in Scope, you've done a good job!
I've been looking at Scope for a couple of days now and I want one (project pack) for the minimax and prophet synth emulations. Although, I have a question. I use PTLE with 002 and Ableton Live. Would Scope integrate on my system if I use a VST-to-RTAS wrapper in PT? I could also route the ADAT in/out to the 002 but a software interconnect would be nicer. I guess I could use Live in Rewire mode alongside PT and maybe use VST in Live?
I couldn't find this type of info on the CW website unless I missed something...

Apologies if I jump into the post with these questions.

I promise to follow the CW path

That should work, using Scope in XTC mode

I did some research and found out more about the XTC mode.Thanks!!!! Would XTC work directly in PT if I use a VST wrapper? I can hear the latency when Live is connected to PT through Rewire.

I'm on mac, started back in the old times on Digidesign, but don't use PT as I discovered 5 years ago a rather obscure but eclatant alternative, for 1/10th of the PT price, called Creamw@re

Creamware however never got themselves so far to support OSX, and I can't beleive XTC can cross that border via a VST/AU wrapper, as the system doesn't accept the cards.

I'm preparing to rebuild my studio for working on two macs, one with my CW cards on OS9, one with OSX, connected via ADAT and Midi.
I just bought a RME Hammerfall HDSP 9652 Adat/Midi card on ebay to rule this.
But it's a shame a software solution as Creamware doesn't offer OSX by itself, tho you never know what's under the hat.

You mean it doesn't support OSX?

That's the only machine I have, and I don't feel like getting a second computer to run Scope, at least in the near future. Strange, CW says Scope is compatible with Mac and PC on its website.

yeah...yet it's time to change that observation to simply 'No, Creamware does not support Mac'.
OS9 isn't equivalent to OSX anymore, you get serious problems if you think you can stay on OS9, like acces to internet sites and files, software not updated or compatible at all, etc.
OS9 is schluss, ended, dead, closed, finished.
Creamware really should remove every suggestion of mac support from its site, like 'supporting mac (OS9)'.
It's not only not relevant anymore, it's also rather ridiculous!
What company shows that information still on it's site??
Old users know that the cards support OS9, new (mac) customers will just ask, OS9, what is thát supposed to be?

Suppose Creamware once supported MSDOS, imagine it would still name that support on it's site

Creamware does NOT support Apple Macintosh!.

I, for a while, thought about making cool tutorial videos using Camtasia, which I had the chance to pick up for a project I was sub-contracted on. It's a GREAT little prog and easy to use. You'd want to do any serious video work in Vegas, and audio in Sonar (or whatever YOUR favorite apps are).

If you've got a camcorder that you're using, and are interested in making video tutorials and demonstrations, you might want to try a mix & match of live video to give a feel for the interfacing with the machine, and some human level perspective, and then show the heavy-lifting using Camtasia or some such app.
