Which Notebook is recommendable?

Post by helldriver »

Hi guys,
I´m going to buy me a new Notebook, but for which one should I run?
I decided that notebooks with centrino core 2 duo are a good choice. but which manufacturer is good?
I´m also want to use a magma box in the future so the notebook should be compatible with that.
I thought about Sony Vaio FE VGN31B because of the astonishing display and the overall quality.
I also want a notebook with a fast 7200 harddrive but unfortunately most of the notebooks are coming with 5200 hard drives.
Will I lose my warranty when I´m changing the harddrive?

And can I use a creamware Pulsar2 and a Uad1 at once in a magma box?

thx

I can recommend the Sony Vaio range, I use one at work as my development machine and it's very capabable with an excellent display as you point out.

i´ve got another question, would you go for an warranty enlagerment of one additional year which would cost me additonal 140 euros?
is it worth that 140 euros for one more year warranty?

and whats about an pixel failure test? it costs 20 euros

normally the display should work fine in an new notebook.

thx
