Hi John, I tried to upload a new track, but after upload time I get the message that an upload fault occurred.
I did as usual, the mp3 (256, VBR) is playing fine here :-)
Tried two times, same result.
Mac OS9, M$ I.E. 5.
Could it be there's something wrong?
Or is it me?

Hey Huub,
You're right- there was a problem.
It should be working again now- please give it a try and let me know.

Cheers,

thanks John for quick reply :-)
I now get the message 'file is too big.
Can't be, it's a normal 6,5 minute 256 VBR, 6 MB to be precise.
Will try later again, have to go now :-)

I realized I had special permissions cuz I'm the moderator. I created a test account and did some tests, and found the problem.

Try again now!
This time for sure :)

Hi John,
doesn't seem if the new 'order by' feature works.

In the modular patches forum, I changed from the default 'Last Post' to 'Post Time' and the order items remains the same:

Modular meets CubaseSX
Tape Echo
drum trigger
(another) Waldorf unison patch
WobbleBass
SpaceDreams
FleXAmp

Same in the Devices forum:
HELTER SKELTER
MOVEQ+ & MOVamily TEST-VERSIONs
three-O-three UPDATE
Clock 2 Click
Midi Channel Changer
K1-D Knotts-Scope-device-collection 1.0 Part 4 - "Filters"

Be great if you could get this working - I use it a lot to make sure that I've got all the latest modular stuff up on my site (not that I'm quite up to date at the moment, but there you go!)

Cheers,
Ben

Oh true! Damn, that's an essential feature! Also the filters...

Will they be back?

since I was keen on having this feature (back) I tested this with the devices forum. watch the date in the rightmost column. the order seemed equal to a certain degree, but there was still a difference.
somebody (you :) ) obviously changed the order in the meantime by posting, so you might have seen the result already...

Hi Kylie,
the date in the rightmost column might change, but its not ordering the posts correctly.

In the Modular Devices forum, for example,
Wobble Bass was posted 29th August
Space Dreams was posted 14th Sept
Flexamp was posted 3rd October

However you chose to view the posts, it always orders them
Wobble Bass
Space Dreams
Flexamp

but when viewing by first posted date, it should order them the other way round.

Or am I missing the point?

Cheers,
Ben

I too used the various forum filters quite often & don't remember more than a few people saying they didn't use them when the upgrades were discussed, which isn't really a democratic decision that they weren't needed. ]¬[

you are right with the modular forum. but then, this is much less frequented than the devices forum. could it have happened that the last post and post order _are_ the same, just because they _are_?
try the devices forum, it works. mccyranos devices were all together when posted. but if you set sorting to last post you can clearly see mc's collection pt. 2 moving to the 3rd rank :)

I don't think that can be right because then they would appear in the opposite order with Flexamp at the top (most recent) but in fact it always appears below the other two, because the other two have had more recent replies.

then view every topic and write down every date that might have influence on the sort order. I have replied to the flexamp thread in modular patches to get it on top of the list. see if you get the same result. if not... mhh...

No.

Remember we discussed this here:
http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=19826

at the time, you said "a good search can do the same thing and even better".

So here we are, with a good search feature :)

All the old tags have been embedded into the text of the topics, and the search database was indexed after that, so you should be able to use the search tools to get the same results.

It may not be as ideal as my mods in the old forums, but i think the benefits of the upgrade outweigh the loss.

Cheers,

Agreed, it seems that order by post time descending isn't working right. I'll look into it.

I was hoping that using a 3rd party mod would mean i didn't have to spend time debugging the forums. Bummer!

John, I've noticed that some links before the transfer to the new forum now still display a blank page which only displays something about a 'hacker attempt' or similar phrase.

Also, the downloads all open a new browser window, which is undesirable if possible to avoid.
