I recently upgraded from P2/SFP P3/933Win98 to a new PC: AMD64bit3800dualcore/ASUS A8N-SLI Premium/4G RAM/Galaxy6800XT Graphics/WinXP S2 running with Emagic Logic 5.5. I use the system mainly for MIDI/VST composition along with audio. When it works it works brilliantly but is subject now to constant 'locking' - audio output jams like a stuck CD and PC shuts down. Can anyone help?

The ASUS A8N serie uses nForce4 chipset, and i guess that is the reason for your trouble.
Not many systems with that chipset is running ok, so
Also heard SLI is not optimal for DAW, but that is another story, if it's true.

I buildt myself a ASUS A8N-E PC, it's verry fast for other things

Look around here for better motherboard for your system, i can't remember what chipset is best, but there are others!
