I was just commenting in another thread about how Yamaha had made some very reliable hardware in the '80's. The same hardware that I used back then to help a local fake "pretty band" is now going to help me make more money. I just got contracted as the mnusical director 4 a local fake "super pretty band" that will be a basic dance around pretend Brittany Spears type gig, the catch is that they will do '70s, and '80's disco and change outfits and basically act like little husseys. The amazing thing is that I always have archived music on hand as I was overwhelmed by MIDI sequencing in the '80's and transcribed Donna Summer, etc. 4 that was an idea that never really blossomed. But now dance is on the rise here in Las Vegas. As much as I like funk/jazz, I think I am really gonna enjoy this dance craze as I will be making an extra 2000 USD a month till this project ceases. Looks like my old QX-1, TX816, and DMP-7 are going to get racked up and go make more money 4 me. I will only have to add segues and maybe add a couple of songs. I did all of this 20 years ago as it forced me to learn the earliest form of automation and MIDI orchestration, and now it is finally going to pay off. So I take back all of my "sequencers suck comments" as of today. They will not however get my SFP DAW's on their cheezy stage. Funny, my Yamaha rig was cheaper than getting the Kareoke rig!! I would not have got the job if I was touring as a sideman, so SFP has brought me a great income and an additional source of revenue as well. It should be veiwed as an opportunity more than an achievement, but never the less I'm in town at the right time. The lowest bidder has won!!

Happy for u, mate.
It could be wonderfull to find similar opportunities in my position.
Often I think about how much my skills could be usefull inside the right context; they are instead quite unused, but I always hope.

Are u then considering a nick change?

This is only a well paying joke. But here in Las Vegas, many musicians are required to carry SAG card. Screen Actors Guild, 4 there are so many films being made here. It would be typical if these babes made it into some films and such, as the real musicians suffer nightly as no one claps or dares enter the lounge when they could be losing cash in a machine somewhere. That is why I refused any bookings where the tables sat so close to the stage. As it turns out I was lucky and smart 4 standing firm against the cheese factor which is so prevalent here. No agent dares ask me to suck ass 4 cash now. Besides I will be playing at a big dance club where there are no bloody machines 4 miles around, a true blessing. The girls will be performing elsewhere while I am working my gig. I will try to teach them how to operate the machines, but I doubt they have that kind of skill. So I assume that I will be doing tech work on my cell phone quite frequently. Almost like selling a relative a used car! When the battery goes dead they call you at 2 am. If they run out of gas, they expect you to go and fetch. Oh well, I guess I can assist them a little bit. Afterall they are very atractive little husseys.

Live music in clubs and pubs ain't diffused here. Recorded or broadcasted music is used instead.

When I'd found some place for play I had to say thanks instead of ask for money.

About 'dangerous' places, you can be sure, they don't lack at all here to.

Don't know if you're joking, but I tried that in the midi ringtone age. It looked to me like a not so easy thing. My ringtones sounded different (from good to bad) on different phones
