wouldn't it be a great idea if anyone who visits this forum "identifies" himself (or herself) not only by name but also by their PC hardware configuration (creamware card type and software version nr. included). It would give a better insight in what to buy and what not to buy to relatively ignorant members such as myself.
anyone ??
wouldn't it be a great idea !!
hoi evdb,
We have something similar here, but it's kinda organised in a topic, see here. Usefull information there includes hardware and software configuration, including specific tweaks and quircks of the system.
That topic helps keeping the forum clean of excessively large signaturs, and provides more detailed information than a signature could. Or do you have other idea's on where to attach it? (My homepage also has a comprehensive list of my setup...)
I hope a reminder once in a while (like this one;) will encourage members to keep their config there up-to-date. Check it out for our info on our setup, and maybe add yours some day

It's possible to migrate, but John's mods to this board would take lots of time to transfer.
I'm not sure what would be worse from John's point of view, the time it would take or the downtime it would take unless set up in a different location in parallel to this forum to avoid any downtime. Either way it'd be a lot of hassle.
