Pro-12 ASB just arrived -------- Mono/Poly leds?

Just received Pro-12 today.
Doing a quick run through.
Checking switches leds, preset, etc.
(Scanned the manual).

All leds and switches seem to function normally except
the MONO/POLY leds never come on. Anyone know
what purpose these LEDS serve. Do they ever come on?

(Up Down parameter adjustments works as well as “two key”
Poly off and on function) .

About ready to install remote control software on computer
and check version number of software. (This unit was manufactured
Dec 02, 2005).

Find it interesting that there are two switches with leds in them
but they don’t function. EDIT: (The leds do not function, but the switches do have a purpose).
(Guess it was lower cost to just buy all
the same switches whether they used the leds or not).

It is also interesting on power-up the leds flash. Meaning
they are connected to something.

Just set up the minimax asb which I also received today and it’s Mono/Poly leds
don’t seem to function either.

Thanks for comment garyb.

Yes, you can press them to move the presets, and parameter
values up and down by 1 count. Or you can press both buttons
at the same time to switch between mono and poly modes.

It just that both of these ASB units seem to have leds in the switches
that do not turn on. (Makes it look like the units are defective to
new users such as myself).

All the other synths I have ever used have leds in
switches ONLY if they,(the leds),are used for something.
