bx_digital bundle available !!! (bx1 and bx2)
well, it is true that the price is an important issue for many of us. Nevertheless, we must listen first the demo and then, we will think about the decision. My point of view is that, as good plug ins lead to the purchase of more dsp, that would be cool to sell those plug ins at a better price. I will wait for the demo version and decide or not to purchase it when i have the money...

The market field that you described are allready filled by wellknows historical "standard" brands like TC, Sony, Digidesign. On 2006-02-14 20:22, Shayne White wrote:
High-end plugins are VERY expensive. Bias Soundsoap Pro costs $600, the TC plate reverb plugin for Powercore costs $400, Digidesign's high-end EQ costs almost $800, and the Sony Oxford EQ for TDM costs over $800!! If the BX-1 is competing with those kinds of venerable, prestigious items, then it's pretty reasonable. We haven't really had truly high-end, big-studio-quality plugins on Scope before. Synths are in another class, of course.
It would be awesome if CreamWare started targeting the high-end market if they could get the sales to back it up. I'm also glad there are lower-grade products for us poor people as well.

Creamware must cover the hole between the experimental, hobbist and pro area if they want to remain alive. My thought don't mean that Creamware is less powerful than the other brands (I think that Creamy is more powerful than Digidesign i.e.), but the market rules are strong.
First step must be selling a lot of new Scope system to the mid-pro target and make money+advertising, then, when they becomes famous and a sort of standard (like Digidesign), they could start a new expensive product line for pro market.
Otherwise Creamware could remains in a static situation because the huge diffusion of second hand scope cards selling.
They must gain a high number of new customers OVER the concept of quality of these customers.
A DSP system is a close enviroment that could dies if the prices are too high: the actual customers will buy only few licences of the new plugins, and the potential new customers are scared from a new and pricey system!
If the Cremware's prices are comparable as Sony, TC, Digidesign's prices, I think that the potential new pro customers will stay away from Creamware to acquire more "standard" system like Digidesign...
BRAINWORX could gain 60.000 euros (i.e.) with 100 "exclusive" pro users licences at 600 euros, or with 200 or shurely more "popular" licences at 300 euros.
It's only a marketing choice...
Please mantain the Scope system affordable for all users and don't try to create 2 different product sectors.
My 4 cents

4PC + Scope 5.0 + no more Xite + 2xScope Pro + 6xPulsarII + 2xLunaII + SDK + a lot of devices (Flexor III & Solaris 4.1 etc.) + Plugiator.
Nice way to completely devaluate already Pro products though.
And what would happen if they sold 100 plugins at 600 euros but 115 at 300 euros? How do you know that the "50% price -> 2x more sales" assumption is true? Do you have any actual market data for products of this kind to base your assumptions on? It's a very naive way of looking at things.
BTW the Osiris XP plugin is also 600 euros. Would you like to comment on this one too?

your ears are likely as good as mine.
it's your money.
it sounded pretty good to me, but that WAS in a very poor listening environment. honestly, i think you're more pro than i. i am certainly getting paid, but i'm no one "special" either. i have seen a whole lot of gear and i get what's up, more or less and have an opinion.....
it's expensive, but there's a demo, so you can see for your self. if your mixes sound like they just got more "expensive", then it's probably a good buy. if you don't like it, leave it. i'm thinking of buying it, although it'd be an expensive purchase. i'll likely spend some time with the demo. it sure seemed like a great solution to some very common mastering eq(ing) problems...
although my clients are very happy with my work, being that it's better than what they usually get(which doesn't nessessarily make mine good!), i'm still not very pleased with the results i'm hearing, especially on my own work. the demonstration that Dirk gave, seemed to address some major problem areas that are just so hard to pinpoint and explain, but obvious to hear. this really seemed to be the eq i'm looking for in mastering.
i know it's stupid to do it one's self anyway, and i know that the acoustic treatment in my room is only adaquite, not anywhere near optimum, but just from the results i've gotten on a couple of projects(they're not nessessarily bad either...), i know that i should be able to do a plenty passable job of mastering if i have the right tools. i'd have to mess with it in the studio to say that the bx eq was that device or not. i'm interested though, because if it IS that device, then it'll make me a lot more than $600....
