Opinion varies as to which way you should install.. personally I've had good luck with ACPI but others here have had better luck with standard PC. Best thing to do is to resign yourself to some dead time to test which way works best for you. If it helps, I've never had a problem with ACPI, even having multiple Pulsars on different IRQs with one of them sharing with another card (RME). This is my current setup with an Nforce3 Ultra board.

I have that exact motherboard! I tried Standard PC, and the nVidia IDE drivers didn't work. You have to install as ACPI. Don't worry, the board supports APIC so your cards will get unique IRQs.

Good luck,

hi Shayne,

thanx for the info. installed all pc-components, os (XP) and finally 2 pulsar-cards ... now I can feedback that everything works fine so far.
OK, had some difficulties with my nuendo-usb-dongle ...

now I hope that cw will manage to give us a 64-bit driver ... I would even pay for it ...
cheers

Hi,

I have that mobo as well,

regarding the usbproblems with dongles,
buy a usb hub.

I found that helped lots.

As for the cw install, I haven't tried yet....

I think it may come down to just install a Pulsar II card without I/O just as XTC, just to get to some of the cool effects I won't part with (this is the mixing machine), then install the Scope Pro + the other Pulsar II in a Asus Cusl2 PIII 866MHz, 512 MB ram, and win 9x, just as a synth monster.

I had to look real hard to find that old mobo, but I knew I had it somewhere!!
eh, you're right, :-) I am a luna(t)ech!
