New ASB Box: B4000

I saw that Creamware announced a new ASB hardware module: the B4000 ASB. There's also a new site dedicates to the ASB line at http://www.asb.creamware.de/

Looks nice - looks more compact than the other ASBs too. Not sure about the overhanging sliders though, things like that tend to get snapped off.

i hope they've changed the preset saving - players will probably want to call up different presets for the uppper/lower manuals (unlike B2003 which stores them as one preset, not allowing you to mix 'em up).

They don't seem shy to mention the origins now, just put a handy TM and you're away.

The new Web site looks really cool, in spite of the fact that they don't have the links ready to the manuals and sound clips. Still, this is a significant improvement over their previous marketing efforts. I hope they finally are able to get known in the audio world this time around. Scope was too "advanced" for many home studio users and not fancy enough for the Pro Tools crowd, so I think these new products are more "accessible."

I myself thought the next ASB product was going to be Prodessy, but they obviously went for the B4000 instead. Hope it does well! Wish I could be at NAMM!!!

Maybe the modular4 with a neural interface.

It's not something impossible...err I mean a sort of modular interconnectivity, not the psycocinetic synthesis...and if it could be FleXor it would kick ass brutally...

2 osc. sections, 2 filter sections, 2 shaper sections, 2 envelopes, 2 lfos, a granular section, everything around a matrix (with led buttons?)...after all the idea brought by the VCS3 is great, isn't it?

Add the possibility to activate a Flexor P2CV and a follower right after one of the audio inputs to play the synth with a guitar or a mic or any other monophonic audio sound....CWA would cause serious headaches to the marketing departments of all the other companies...it would be a blast.

Imagine, after those really good emulations of the past, coming out with a new sound, something exclusive of superior quality (such is FleXor to my ears) different from any other thing...

Maybe a dream for now, but realistic.

More than a synth the B4000 is an instrument to really play on...which isn't a so common quality these days

Wish I could play keyboard tho, the sound is fantastic

This machine btw will draw great press attention I think, it's a special thing, a box with draw bars, never saw that before.
I hope the 'traditional' (rock) instrumentalist can appeciate this design, don't forget it has no keys, you need to play a separate keyboard in combination with the drawbars of the B4000.

CWA learned from the (Noah) past, they now FIRST generate cash (Xmas offer) before launching new hardware

If it only brings new cash in for OSX programming it's all fine with me.
Boring me, but I still think CWA really needs to work on that, at least for marketing reasons.

Amazing tempo btw they from CWA show, it's a good sign that the company seems to be strong and creative

Well there might be some competition from this Roland box, but knowing Roland they haven't got their modelling quite right (their COSM stuff for guitars isn't highly rated by guitarists). Nice to have hands on drawbars - different target audience from the other two i suspect so sales should be good.

Also i imagine Prodyssey will be the last ASB for a while and we may then get some SCOPE development on new Sharcs etc.

I hope this B4000 sells well.

However, I think the only thing that is going to really get some attention for Creamware again is a semi-modular synth - something like an Arp2600 - featuring Flexor stuff hopefully but even with standard CW modules I think this would be a killer machine for CW. You'd just need a push-button matrix or something, and maybe a rotary/LCD for swapping out modules. No need for patch cords or drag+drop or anything silly like that.

Yeah, logically a Prodyssey should follow, some rumors about a Wave clone and maybe a futur trend for ASB first, plugin later ; I wouldn't mind in that order to help the platform !

I imagine also the modular + third parties but as a G2 rack, " fresh up " the modules and pack as much as possible in a screen, keep up with the G2 specs Vs Creamware and ...

Also I hope they are picking the best chip for very long time development and power, I prefer to wait an another year for that ! you don't renew that stuff every year and this year is a very good year ( 21364/21368 )

More realistically, I'am up for whatever 2006 will bring on ...
