Most experts recommend the same irq to 2 or 3 cards.

It's perfectly fine, they just mustn't share it with any other thing.

no troubles but i wonder if its a matter of more power dedicated to each card if each card has its own irq. i mean is there a bigger bottleneck with two irq's doing the same job?

yes, and as i can see irq 11 is free for me.
offcourse i have disabled many unused stuf on the pc.
bios shows that my abit ic7-g motherboard has the three center pci slots free(no onboard device shares irq) for pci divices.
pci slot 1 shares always with a onboard device, the same does 5th pci slot.

a big problem i think is going to occur if i want to change motherboard.
the new ones have usually 3 pci slots and the other slots are pci-e.
lets say that my motherboard dies?
wich motherboard will give me atleast 2 pci slots without sharring?

scared for the future of my creamware cards..................

well if u r scared, be sure that the best computers for scope is gonna get cheaper and cheaper

i am ofcourse talking about second hand "oldies". buy a cpuple of $150 computers and ull have youre scope for a loooong time. if u need more powerful machines later on, just control your scope PC as an external synth/efefct or whatever you want to use it for.

I have 2 x UAD, 2 x Pulsar II, i need firewire and gigalan (because massive use of FX-Teleport):
I've found my ideal product: MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum - Socket 939 AMD - Chipset NVIDIA (great!) nForce4 Ultra - ATX - 4PCI+1 pci express+1 AGP - RAID 0,1,5 serial-ata, Athlon64, etc.
It's the last GREAT mother-board before the quick PCI abandon from the market...
It's amazing!!!
