Hi Sharc,
Maybe, ... but I don't have more S/TDM cables

Michel
How to do the hokey cokey...
bigger devices with more polyphony are more likely to share dsps across the stdm bus, and therefore, use more connections.(or so i understood the explanation years ago)On 2005-11-22 10:24, sharc wrote:Interesting. This sounds very similar to the problem I'm having at this end.On 2005-11-22 04:05, MD69 wrote:
Hi all,
2PowerPulsar + PulsarII SRB: 3 STDM.
Got this kind of messages even at 50% load, seems to me linked to the synths polyphony and which synths are running concurrently.

Michel
Also, the message I get most often is telling me that I can't have any more STDM connection between boards 0 and 2. Which board is 0? Is it actually referring to boards 1&3 as they appear on the DSP Meter window?
and also, yes.

Hi ya,
can someone please remind me how to connect and setup multiple scope boards?
I've looked through the PDF manual and I can't see to find it. And there is no FAQ on creamware any more.
Forum search, this was the closet thread I could find.
BTW what do you think are the chances of creamware doing a PCI-e or Firewire version?
Obviosuly there's all the USB asb stuff (and noah was) and the new chinese thing - but it only has a few synths and I am unclear how the registration serials will be handled with that, especialy for third party things liek John B's, or how much horsepower it has.
AYPK the cme board version can only run 1 synth at a time.
Many thanks
Peter

Hey peter what an old thread
... For connecting the boards you just have to use the special STDM cables. Just beware of using only the tip connectors if you have only 2 borads (that of the midle remaining unsued). With 3 boards, you just have to use all the connectors. It seems better to use as many conectors as you can...1,2 or 3 but all the stdm cables must be conected to all the boards you have installed.
As for pcie verison, we do not know .... I can just tell you that soniccore should be present at the Frankfurt show but it seems to early for hardware stuff ..

So as i have two boards with two connectors each and sufficient ribbon cables, shall I connect both sockets of both boards (leaving the middle ribbon socket empty)
And what was the thing about configuring which board is mother ?
How do I do that again?
I'm sure I used to have this written down somewhere, but it doesn't seem to be in any pdf manuals...
BTW I'm trying to install these on a mixed bus pci-e pci-x DFI (intel) fireblood board.
It was going really well, but every 2 hours or so (random) the machine freezes.
Having removed the creamware card (1 to start with) it seems to be ultra stable in 8 hours and hasn't crashed or frozen once (like it's supposed to).
This is the second time I've tired a mixed bus motherboard, the MSI (athlon) again would run but freeze every 30 mins or so.
Sure I have to experiment with the slots and interrupt clashes, but it's still quite disheartening on a virgin machine. You'd hope it would run anywhere.
BTW on te MSI it wouldn't work in any of the 3 slots.
Hence my keeness for a firewire / et al version...
Thanks again.

the easiest thing to do :
1) make a clean installation (i mean, uninstall all the scope stuff before)
2) install the biggest and most recent board (check the date on the white sticker) in order to optimize plugin loadings and samplerate, then its driver, shut down windows
3) install the second board with the stdm cables (do not touch the golden connectors, that may lead to freeze/start issues !), restart windows, install scope driver again (for this board)
4) install scope 4 or 4.5 if you have it) with the keys and here we go ...
I am not sure to understand what kind of DFI board you have. I have the P35-TR2 Lanparty so I know these boards are perfect and very stable. But yours seems weird ...
