Well i've put my old PowerSampler card in my PC and have upgraded to SCOPE Home. This is all a bit of an experiment as i work on Mac. The software loads fine, i haven't tried the MIDI or Audio yet (i haven't got a Sequencing Host yet - looking for a free or cheap one initially). How do i safely do it without blowing everything?

So what am i asking? Well it would be nice if all you PC gurus could tell me what the hell i do next. Should i partition my drive before i go to far into the music side (i use the computer for internet, web design, games and invoices)?

What do i need to optimise and how do i do it? Please don't say stuff like: "Turn HT off." Tell me how to turn it off (and why might be nice) step by step (or give me an appropriate link) - i haven't a clue with all this PC mallarky, assume i am really clueless - i will not feel patronised.

My set-up is:
ASUS P4 motherboard (how do i find out which type?) 3.2GHz Dual
RAID 0, S-ATA
250GB hard drive
1GB RAM
Windows XP Pro SP2

Cheers,
Mr A
