Not sure if it's a Scope or Cubase problem to be honest!

I have managed to get my set up working nicely and the only thing that doesn't seem to work is my Roland JV1010.

At the moment I'm using Cubase and wanting to use the fantastic sounds on my JV1010 but it doesn't seem to want to work. I've added it so I can see it and change patches etc... but I can't hear anything and there is no midi activity on the JV1010. The only time I can hear anything is on the MS Wavetable output rather than the creamware midi in/out and this just plays some rubbish GM stuff!

Anyone had this problem before? Like I say, it could be something I've missed in Cubase rather than a Scope problem.

In cubase you have to select the Creamware MIDI out for the MIDI tracks, in Scope you must connect the Sequencer MIDI source to your card's MIDI destination where your synth is receiving from.

Hi Paul
I've emailed you what I think is the solution for you.
Once we've got it sorted we should post a tidier version of the solution to this thread to help other users in the future.
Don't know how we'll attach the jpegs though.

Let me know how you go on

Hi, an update on where I am witht the whole thing! With some Neil B I'm getting closer to solving the problem. It does seem to be a problem with connecting things in the project file in a similar way to the fact that I can't record audio yet can see the signal on my STM mixer! Will try and keep explaining problems in the hope that others may learn from my mistakes/misunderstandings/inexperience!!!!

Alfonso: I'm currently using a slightly modified version of the new project. This already has what you suggested.

However, my midi setup is a usb keyboard, no problems playing soft synths etc... then using the midi connections on the card itself I have a midi out on the card going into the midi in on the JV1010. Is this the correct way for an external synth to be setup?

if your jv midi in is connected to the midi out of the creamware card, you should connect (inside the scope environment) the sequencer midi source to the pulsar midi destination, then in cubase, in the midi track, select creamware midi out 1 (if you have more than one sequencer midi source opened, the number of the out will be the same) and select the midi input correspondig to your usb keyboard, then activate the record button on the midi track or the monitor button and the jv should work.

Thank you all for your replies. On my project I have all of those devices connected in exactly that way but it still doesn't work!

I've also connected my JV1010 back onto my old pc with an audigy card and that works fine!

It really is a mystery why this doesn't work!
