its win 98, every other game and app work, just not castle wolfenstein, but the game also states you have to have a 100% direct x compatible soundcard.

What's your ULLI set at? I've played Unreal, QuakeIII, Counter Strike & StarCraft without any problems with Pulsar 1.3, and 2.04a, Win98SE. Haven't played any games since then, but everything has always worked... What version of DirectX do you have installed?

On a related topic. Max Payne requires DirectX 8 which is bad for Pulsar. I have a dual boot system. Consider that if you need to play games. Use the Pulsar driver only on the game OS and make your own setup for it in the other OS. Save it as the setup which plays runs in the background.

Try to use Windows XP. In XP with standart Pulsar background project I have absolutely no problem. No latency and no crackles.

disable the audio hardware acceleration in the dx-diag. It´s the first and only thing that comes to my mind so far.

For games _DO NOT CHANGE THE DEFAULT WINSTART PRO_
make a backup.
I have RTCW and it works like a charm_when_ I remember to replace my _changed_ winstart for the original.

Don't know why either ???
Other then that all my games have always worked...

Short List:
RTCW
MaxPayne
Undying
TribesII
UT
Q1>3
HalfLife
DungeonSiege
SystemShock2
no one lives forever
DeusEx
Alice
All the BalderGates

there is more but this should be enough
I have heard that _some_ RTS games will install an emulation SB16 driver if no eax card is found, as soon as you remove this it should work.

And I have also notice ID games are the most sensitive to the winstart thing...
