nForce 4 - what do we know about this chipset and Creamware?

I'm about to build me a new PC, and I'm going for AMD64, and have been looking at a nForce 3-chipset based system because this seems as a sure thing.
But I would like to have some of the new PCI-E slots too, so what do we know about the nForce 4-chipset, is it impossible to make it work properly? What is your experience with this chipset?

I don't have any personal experience, but all info I've found and read about nForce4 and audio has been unworkable. Gamers are well served with nforce4, but there are hardware level issues in pci bus operation with the current generation.
I'm afraid, for the time being, we are trapped with old technology, which has already started to disappear from the markets.
I've read promising reports about Asus A8V Del. with dualcore AMD's

Check out the Nuendo and Cubase forums. That's where I got all the info I needed to hear about the nForce4. Even folks with their intrepid RME's and MOTU's were having all kinds of problem. I think the PCI bus was a little neutered in order to give the PCI-Express the access it needed to the Processor's memory core. I'm speculating, Astroman could probably tell me better, but it's definately not worth "seeing if you can" unless you've got a bit of cash and a shop with a forgiving return policy. Oh yeah, and lots of time....

i just started to work with my new computer :
asus a8n-sli deluxe + nforce4
creamware pulsar v1.01
amd 3200+

and i dont have any problem......

i have no idea what prpole are talking about.........

Have you done the MasterVerb-test? And how many could you load and use sucessfully without problems?

As far as I know, following problems has been reported:
- Increased latency needed for click free operation.
- Higher cpu usage in multitracking software, compared to nforce3 systems.
Have you tested low latency performance?
It's good to hear if there are some success with nforce4 as well. Please keep us informed .

I'd love to know your BIOS version and motherboard hardware revision. Maybe I can get this Asus Nforce4 SLI board to do something useful after all
