Is Godaddy good for podcast hosting?

I'm going to produce a podcast.

I wonder if anyone has anything good or bad to say about godaddy. Lots of people want to give advice on how to do the audio. I know all that but there is very little information that I could find on how to make an rss feed other than a few examples. It seems to be a markup language with tags similar to html yet there are no GUI editors like for html. I understand that it is akin to xml and some people use xml instead.

Is there a book I should buy for this?

As far as I can see, the hands-down best solution for hosting your podcast is a company called "liberated syndication"

They make it so easy to get going. You'll have your first podcast up in minutes.

Hey thanks rpeel.

This deal seems too good to be true. I wonder if the company will last. I guess the only catch is that you can not use your own domain which I don't like. You must have their name in the url. I would still need godaddy for the website. I guess the top podcasters all have their own servers and T1 lines. My geekishness doesn't extend to that level.

We ought to organize a planetz podcast.

I noticed today that NPR science friday is using libsyn for hosting. I wonder if they are using the $10.00 per month plan. That is so hilarious. Libsyn might regret this offer.

You actually can use your own domain name and have it resolve to your libsyn page, or just have libsyn host your files and handle the RSS and other stuff yourself.

The forum there has a lot of banter about all of this.

I realized this after researching it more. The problem is you have to pay 2 companies. It would take a long time to run out of storage space at godaddy and I doubt my show would be so popular as to use up the bandwidth at godaddy so the main advantage of libsyn is the ease of syndication but I could always copy someone elses feed and modify it. I wish libsyn would offer web hosting for a little extra.
