oops, me gain.
I forgot the new Highpass and Filter Rack from the filter zip (those two filters are used a lot in the AN-Osc presets!).
Now corrected : please redownload (and mucho sorry).

As we are on a new page, here are a few info of previous page updates :

SPACEF BB USER AREA UPDATE:
- AN-Osc synth + 233 presets
- 5 new filters specially designed for AN-Osc. Compatible with SDX etc. Includes Mega EQ update (wet/dry gain relation)
- 3 new simple oscillators for all synths : sinus, square, triangle.
- 14 oscillators modifications for AN-Osc (compatible with other synths)
- Microscope update : not really a necessary update, but is the Microscope as it will ship with AN-OSC. just a different default osc+tuning settings which are necessary for AN-Osc default preset "a voicey solo".
- ALL CHORDS UPDATE : I have removed the Fine Tune preset list because it wasn't functioning correctly. this development is postponed. The Fine Tune window is still accessible and useable (and you can save presets in the chord preset list).
-When loaded, the chord osc do not show the "-t" suffix anymore.
-Minor graphical correction on all osc.
-more info in the user area.

hi mehdi,

thanks for this update! unfortunately, i haven't been able to spend a lot of time with BB lately...

but, i noticed while trying to download 'chord osc update + add' that i got directed to something 'nexen' like. surely not the right link.

cheers!

Repaired  (wow, today's update was tough on the html side of things)

Thanks a lot for telling !

Please note I have also added 2 filters in the "filter" update page (just forgot them from the previous zip).

I also hope to come with a special MAC release (trying to rent an os9, as i found no os9 emulator (all mac os available except os9. But there are other solutions. It just takes time).

while we're at it  sorry mehdi... should have cleaned up my download folder before getting all that stuff.

i seem to have downloaded something 'Uknowk-PWM-chord osc.zip' which is only 8K in size and marked as 'text file'. is this the one that's corrected now.

also 'SDX-AN-newOsc-21-feb-2005.rar' is unfortunately not of much use to me on mac.

edit: just read about the mac release... is that really necessary? last time i used BB all seemed to be ok, apart from the searching for some .devs (but that is due to my machine misteriously missing the 'reference resolver option'... from out of nowhere)

right... (doh)

MAC : the thing with the Search window is apparently the same on all macs
I think it can be annoying and can even make it boring to use the BlackBox on mac, whereas it should be something pleasant to work with. that's why I am trying to make a full MAC version (it can take time though, it is not for tomorrow unfortunately).
Anyway, thanks for your patience Borg
or may be it is just me, it is the kind of things that annoy me not to have full pc/mac compatibilty  .

repaired :
now files are

*** SDX-AN-newOsc-21-feb-2005.zip (231 k)

*** Chord-all-update-21feb2005.zip (5,4 MB approx) (please note : it include the Uknow8 and PWM8 oscillators).

*** Filter-Update-21-feb-2005.zip (1,9 Mb approx)

*** MicroScope-Update2-21-feb-2005.zip (424 k aprox)

*** AN-OSC-SYNTH.zip (683 k)

*** AN-oscillators.zip (2.5 mb approx)

I hope all is working fine now.
PS : I have made myself a "download" folder in the blackbox folder (in the preset folders precisely). Even for me, it is helpful
It allows to know what you have more easily.

Added :

New synth : Synthetic DX D
DXD manual here (with midi controller implementation)

New filters : Haze 2 , Spectral 2 , Lowpass, Bandpass and Highpass B (for DXD)

You can read more about them here.

There is also a HighPass B with lower gain output which can be useful for DX/DXD users.

20 march : LBH Rack update : Midi CC/Program changes.
(other LBH updates will follow).

A word about Program Changes :
- Use program changes and the preset list like presets/patterns of a drum box in LBH or other devices (in synths, it is useful to create suites of chords for example with AN-OSC/SDX/DXD. In LBH, it can be used to change melodies, rythms, mutes, ahd of each oscillators etc etc).
- In suites of chords of synths or "patterns" in LBH, only a few parameters change, and preset changes are generally fast enough to be used as expected. For example, when doing LBH patterns or chord oscillators suites (using the main preset list of the device) you are likely to change only a few parameters from a preset to another (for ex, chords of LBH or Chord oscillators, mutes to simulate note Off, LBH rythms and so on). In general, it is only when you change oscillators or filters that the preset update takes longer and is hard to use as patterns.

- In LBH, you have to be very precise as to the moment when the program change is inserted, in order to have the change between presets happen smoothly.

Valid for all devices, (spacef or not) : Program changes work only when the Banks and the presets are indexed (see animation below). The banks/presets must not have a "-1" number or Program changes will not be received (because "-1" is not referenced as a "program" and therefore, cannot be changed).
- Also, you must select and open the bank you wish to use, so that you can "see" the preset list that you want to remote control.

A new satellite filter has been added "QuadFilterSat" which is the couterpart of the Quadmorph oscillator.

It works the same (ie with two included LFOs) except that it does not include gate, and it adds the possibilty to send the filter modulation to X and/or Y axis.
It is simple, it takes the sound of the incoming oscillator, and sends it to 4 filters of your choice, and crossfade between them according to the XY LFOs and incoming filter mod.
A manual gate trigger button has been added to be able to edit the lfo start.
The secret lies in a good management of the mixer section, together with finding the right offset for each filters.

download from the BB user Area http://www.spacef.com

Image
It is a really fun module to use with an-osc and SDX/DXD even though some of you will probably prefer the forthcoming QuadSynth which is simple but more easy (and has all gate features that are needed).

Also, a few devices are being prepared with midi CC already implemented by default, and using a common midi implementation allowing to save memories of your hardware controller and making it more easy to edit spacef synths (ps : it does not take any dsp power to have those CCs implemented, but if you use 80 of them at the same time, well, it is possible that you give hard time to your midi interface).
Midi devices will be DXD, AN, MetaLBH, QuadSynth. Other devices will follow in a few weeks/monthes time.

When QuadSynth is released, there will be a big zip download with all BB updates and most new devices, making it much more easy to update your BB folders at once.

Quadmorph yours,

ps due to user emails : the above device is a filter SATELLITE for spacef/zarg hosts filter locations only.

It will not work as a standalone or effect, which is why additional version are coming soon

SpaceF BB/AN area :

Updated AN Osc : this version adds Midi CC assigned by default (ready to use when you load the device).

User area on http://www.spacef.com

link to the CC map : http://www.spacef.com/PRODUCTS/ANOSC/midicc2ANOSC.htm
This list should be ready to be printed (2 pages). Scroll down for a list "by CC number".

have fun !

absolute apologies. for some reason, CC to LFO shape forbids to use the square lfo even if it is stored in presets.
I removed the cc assigned to LFO Shape.

CC to LFO shape would require additional modules in the circuit, but I think that, if everybody agrees, it is better to keep AN as a low dsp device and to change lfo on-screen... for the moment.

other news : quad synth will wait a bit, surface has to be designed.
I am reviewing like 500 presets to be converted to DXD for the moment (there are few doubles, so we might end with 200/300 presets... only

sorry for the multiple downloads.

This is the exact replica of the pulse oscillator found in Synthetic Deluxe, and which was not available as a satellite.

Available for DXD/AN in the user area.

Mehdi, i'm having trouble logging in to the BB user area. Is there a problem?

I am pretty sure i have entered my username/password correctly. Can you help?

Is it just me or are there others who are having trouble getting access to the BB user area?
